  1. Just want to update. I tried $150 for 4* and $110 for 3* (not including taxes), and was unsuccessful. Dockland seems like a nice area and I would have probably gone for that as well. However, I found a decent deal with Holiday Inn and ended up booking that instead. Got a room a few mins walk from a tube station and shopping mall that includes breakfast for 3 people. Total was 103 USD tax included so works out well for us. It saves us from getting two rooms during this busy time :). Thanks again for all your suggestions. This board has been extremely helpful.
  2. went from $80 to $140 with no luck for 4* on those bidding zones
  3. I'd like to stay for 1 night on Aug 4 2012 relatively close to the center, so I'm assuming the following bidding areas: Bloomsbury Chelsea Finsbury Kensington Mayfair Notting Hill Regents Park City and London Bridge Westminster A 4* would be preferred up to $140 and a 3* is acceptable up to $100. If things don't work out, I don't mind increasing the budget. Thanks for your help.
  4. Hello, I'd like to book a 4* room in central London for Aug 4 2012 and would really appreciate some help on a bidding strategy please. It's during the Olympics so could be really expensive but I am hoping to keep it under $140 for now if possible. I'm willing to try a 3* for up to $100. Thanks
  5. St. Germain - Latin Quarter - Montparnasse $96 REJECTED ADD Bastille - Bercy $98 ACCEPTED (This appears to be a new property on Priceline list) Subtotal: US$196.00 Total with tax: US$221.48 Used PRICELINE link
  6. Just wanted to share my bid history for this property: Started with 78 for Jersey City (Newark) 4* - REJECTED Added rebidding zone, 80 - REJECTED, got offered to increase to 100 but I declined Added rebidding zone, 85 - REJECTED, got offered to increase to 110 but I declined Added rebidding zone, 86 - ACCEPTED. I was surprised it went through considering I only went up by 1 dollar, but I guess it means I got it for as cheap as possible for this date. This board is extremely helpful. Thank you! I used the PRICELINE link :)
  7. Hello again! After looking around for a few days, I've decided to book a hotel online the regular way. Neither Priceline nor Hotwire is able to offer me a better deal in terms of price and location, in this particular situation. Thank you for your replies. Happy Holidays!
  8. Hello there, I'd like to go to Blue Mountain (Ontario, Canada) and ski for a few days in January 2011 and was wondering if anyone has successfully bid for a hotel around this area? I was browsing around the forum in the summer and thought I saw options ... such as Owen Sound / Collingwood. However, I could have been mistaken because I've just done another search for it recently and was unable to come up with anything on this board. Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  9. Started my bid at $65, got rejected with a counter offer of $20 increase to $85, which I declined. Made another bid at $67 and got accepted. I used the PRICELINE link from this board.
