  1. Stayed this past weekend, so I thought I would give a review. Checked in and no mention of Hotwire reservation. Was given a room with no view, next to the elevator and on the 2nd floor with two double beds. Complained about the room and was given a new room on higher floor, with a slight view of water and a king bed. So overall was happy with the results. Location was excellent. Right on the water and right in the Pourtsmouth downtown district walking distance to all the shops and resteraunts on Main street. Good quality hotel and happy with my stay.
  2. Stayed this this past weekend and was very pleased with the hotel. During check in there was no mention of Priceline reservation. Was given a room on the top floor over looking the Charles River and Downtown Boston. Great room! Couldn't have been happier. Location was excellent. On the water, across the street from the mall and walking distance to the subway. And not even that long of a walk across the bridge to Boston's main areas. Hotel was nice and clean. Only complaint, Champagne was a little expensive for room service, but I guess that is expected at a 4 star hotel.
  3. I did but it didn't accept it. Since it is a Saturday night check in it might be difficult. I'll keep looking for my Saturday night stay and keep you informed, but I'm now looking in the U of W area for that night so we shall see.
  4. Looking for Hotel in Downtown Seattle for 9/1 - 9/3. Started out with 4 star hotel in Seattle Downtown - Pike Place and started at $80 and went to $176 with no luck. Added Seattle Center - Space Needle and again started at $80 and went to $176 with no luck. Lowered start to 3 1/2 star hotels and started at $70 and went up to $136 with no luck. It looks like the 9/1 Saturday check-in is a problem. So I booked a safety hotel on 9/1 and decided to break up the nights. Started out with 4 star hotel in Seattle Downtown - Pike Place for just the 9/2 night and started at $80 and went to 140 with no luck. Added Seattle Center - Space Needle and again started at $80 and went to $140 with no luck. Lowered star to 3 1/2 star hotels and started at $70 and immediately got an $84 counter offer. I instead increased my bid to $74 and it got accepted and I received the Red Lion Hotel on Fifth Avenue. Great price for $74. Now just need to get my hotel for Saturday night. Going to the SDSU vs. U of Washington football game so I have an emergency room nearby but took a shot at 3 1/2 hotels in Seattle - University of Washington area. Started at $80 and bid to $130 with no luck. Back up hotel (Hotel Deca) is $169 so not much room for savings.
  5. Update: I increased bids on a 4 star hotel in Harbor Front, Quincy Market, Theatre District, Beacan Hill, Waterfront, and Copley Square all up to $206. I also increased bids on a 3 1/2 star hotel in Harbor Front, Quincy Market up to $206 and got nothing. Decided to open up to 4 star hotels in Cambridge East Charlestown and started bid at $131. Got Priceline message that said I can bid again at $164 and got Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston for $164.
  6. Trying to get a 4 start hotel in Boston for 7/21 - 7/23 So far over the past week: I have bid on a 4 star hotel in Harbor Front, Quincy Market, Theatre District, Beacan Hill, Waterfront, and Copley Square all up to $206 with no luck. I also have bid on a 3 1/2 star hotel in Harbor Front, Quincy Market up to $206 and Theatre District, Beacan Hill, Waterfront up to $175 with no luck. Decided to open up to 4 star hotels in Cambridge East Charlestown and started bid at $131. Got Priceline message that said I can bid again at $164 and got Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston for $164. Pretty happy considering the difficulty I was having. I fully expected I was going to have to pay over $200 per night although I would like to be in the city its not to far away. Looks like room rate right now is $219.

So far over the past week: I have bid on a 4 star hotel in Harbor Front, Quincy Market, Theatre District, Beacan Hill, Waterfront, and Copley Square all up to $180 with no luck. I also have bid on a 3 1/2 star hotel in Harbor Front, Quincy Market, Theatre District, Beacan Hill, Waterfront up to $175 with no luck. Would like a 4 star near Quincy Market for under $200. I'll try again tonight up to $200 and see what I get. Any strategies anyone could recommend? I'm not renting a car so would like to be in the city if possible.
  8. I have had the exact same problem. I have bid Harbor Front, Quincy Market, Theatre District and Beacon Hill all up to $180 for 4 and 3 1/2 stars with no luck. I'm traveling 7/21 - 7/23.
  9. The hotel was listed as 4 stars with the following amentities: Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Free Internet Accessible path of travel Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Wished I would have gotten the $99 August weekend rates some were getting but still a decent price.
  10. Started bidding at $72, then $77, then $81, then $84 and got it at $88. Took about a week.
  11. First bid at $62 was accepted. La Jolla Marriott. Nice hotel. Great price. Parking was $20 extra and its not close to the beach (more inland than coastal).
  12. Bid first time at $74 and received the La Quinta Resort and Club. Maybe I should have started lower...
