  4. It'll be my wife and I, we'll be traveling to/from gatwick & heathrow. Among other things we'll be interested in restuarants, bars, and some sites. I suppose that could be just about anywhere, but I'm mainly interested for some recommendations since I haven't done my homework on London yet.
  5. Ok, thanks. I have been a little reluctant to priceline anything in Italy based on the previous recomendations, so we've been definetly looking into venere.com. Although, I did notice gasr's post on Milan. Waiting to hear back on other cities. Sonic
  6. Hey everybody Since I've received so much valuable info from my other post "Italy mid-Sept Help", I thought I'd start another one. On our way to Italy we'll be staying 1night, Sept 4th in London. I'd like to priceline it although I don't know what region to bid or how much (having never been there). We want to stay somewhere that's in a fun area for under 100$. We'll be arriving early one morning and leaving late the next night, which isn't too much time, but at least enough to venture out for a while. Your suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks Sonic
  7. Well, I've just started looking at Venice for 9/7 - 9/10 and I think $200/night is about as much as I'll want to pay, but hopefully less. I'm guessing that 5 * hotels are probably well above that. Also, thanks (everyone) for all of the links they have been very helpful.
  8. Willtravel, Its looking like our trip will be very similar to yours, london, venice, florence, rome and almafi coast. I checked out BMI, the rates seem to be quite a bit more expensive than ryanair for our dates (london-venice), but the flight times are alot better. Are there any other airlines to check out for similar flights? Also, what can you tell me about pricelining Venice?
  9. It looks like flying to London first is a really good idea. I can find flights for ~600-650 depeding on the dates and then connection flights are 30-50$. I like the vacation rental idea, I'll do some research and get back to you. Thanks
  10. Thanks for all of the links, I will check them out. It will only be my wife and I on the trip, no kids. We are trying to have a good blend of sightseeing and relaxation (beaches, etc). We definetly don't want to have to take another vacation to relax from this vacation. :) As for flights, I've been checking out Expedia and Travelocity to get baseline prices, although prices are roughly ~$900 give or take 50$ depending on the dates. I briefly looked at priceline yesterday but I was unsuccessful in getting the destination airport to be in Italy, but I didn't spend more than a minute or two looking at it. Also, I think we would have no problem staying at condos, villas and alike, this is a good start let me know if anything else comes to mind. I'll update on things that I find.
  11. Hey guys The plan is to travel to Italy mid-sept from Seattle for ~3 weeks (dates/itinerary are open). I'm just starting to look into finding cheap flights and good deals on higher quality hotels (I don't think we'll be doing hostels). Having never been to Italy (or Europe for that matter) I don't know which to airports to fly into to get the best deals. We've talked about flying into a different country and taking a train to Italy if the price was right, but Italy is our main focus this trip. Thanks for the help
  12. Sorry, didn't proceed far enough. Thanks for clarifying.
  13. Is this still valid? I didn't see where it showed you the taxes after it came back with a list.
  14. Just curious, has anyone ever used/had problems with www.lasvegastouristbureau.com?
  15. Thanks for the advice. Once I knew that the 3* hotel on Hotwire was Excaliber, I went around to various websites trying to find a better deal. I then remembered that Costco has a Travel agency. At first, I only looked up the Excaliber hotel (No flight) and the rates were more expensive than the $152 + Taxes & fees. I then searched for Airfare + Hotel and found that I could get the exact same flight on America West I was thinking of taking. So the total price - the airfare (price listed on America West) came to be ~136$/per room per night, including all taxes and fees. Just thought I'd share.
  16. Hey Guys I'm new to the site and I got to admit that I also have an addiction with deals. I need to get a room on the strip in Vegas starting on 3/16/05 for 4 nights. That weekend is one of the busier weekends due to the College Basketball Tourney and the marketing people have jacked up the hotel prices because of that. I'm looking to spend about 150/per night and would probably go as high as 200 if it meant a big jump in accomodations. I could use some help with any deals/bargains you can find. I should mention that I've been to Vegas a few times and I'm also willing to priceline or hotwire if that's the cheapest way to go. Thanks for your help. The back-up plan is something like San Remo, which I don't know if I'm ready to handle.
