  1. This site is great, I nailed this hotel down, but not before spending some time in these forum's making sure I got what I wanted. Oh, and I used the HOTWIRE link so that this site gets its due. Another interesting thing about it is that I checked the prices on the mobile site from my phone, the price was $83. I then went to my computer to book it, but the price "seemed" to have changed to $91. I refreshed the screen on the mobile site and the price was still $83. I refreshed the regular site and it was still $91, so there is a confirmed difference. I booked it on the mobile site and saved a decent chunk of money, especially since I am staying more than one night. Amenities- Casino, Restaurant, Business Center, Hi-Speed Internet, Pool, Fitness Center, Tennis Nearby (85%) I have searched for a lot of hotels in San Juan and it seems that the "Tennis Nearby" 85% are the hints for this property.
  2. I have been to San Juan twice now. Each time I use betterbidding.com to jockey for the best hotel room. The first time I landed the 4* hotel I wanted in the Caribe Hilton. The second time, I went for a 3.5* near Old San Juan and ended up with the Sheraton San Juan Convention Center Hotel, which IS NOT what I wanted, and not IN Old San Juan. I got the ammenities confused with the hotel that I wanted, which was the Sheraton Old San Juan, which is right smack dab in the center of town. I am seeing that the Old San Juan hotel shows tennis NEARBY, but when I go on hotwire the ammenity shows tennis without the arrow, suggesting that it is on site. I guess what I'm asking is to see if anyone has booked this deal. I want to make sure it is the Sheraton Old San Juan, not the convention center.
  3. Sorry bidders, I failed to note some details about my "win" Searched for Hotels around SJU (airport code) Price $94 Amenities- Casino, Pool, Restaurant, Internet
  4. I used betterbidding to perfection my last trip to San Juan, netting the Caribe Hilton by doing a little research before buying on HOTWIRE. This time I took all the precautions and matched up the 3.5* Sheraton Old San Juan and when I pulled the trigger I ended up with the Sheraton Puerto Rico which has the same amenities. I'm a bit disapointed because I needed it to be the Old San Juan location. Has anyone had any success in working with HOTWIRE to swap hotels, especially since it is the same company (Sheraton)?
  5. I think the Sheraton Old San Juan is a 3-Star, not 3.5, not certain...I'm waiting for this hotel to open up too..stayed at the Caribe Hilton last time in PR and it was just too far from anything, cab after cab...being in OSJ is the way to go.
  6. Shatner hooked it up...My other post on HOTWIRE began with where my vacation begins and ends... The Caribe Hilton. I got the Caribe on HOTWIRE for $119 last week and held out to see if I could get a better deal on PRICELINE, and I did, for $90 and I'm psyched. For the past few days I've been locked out for 24 hour stretches even after playing with the system...I went all the way up to $120 w/out the Caribe biting...tonight, first shot..bagged it. For a total cost of $107 and change, this is an absolute steal. I also work for Mortons of Chicago, so I'll be starting off with a ridiculous dinner there the first evening...who knows what else...I'm just glad betterbidding.com was here to help me get these prices...thanks guys.
  7. Very excited to say the least. Staying pre Celebrity Summit cruise. I noticed that a lot of entries on the Priceline side were reporting The Caribe Hilton accepting offers hovering around $90. The good thing about coodinationg betterbidding.com and the amenities described on HOTWIRE is that you can rest a little bit more assured on what you are getting. If I paid an extra $29 to know that I will be beachfront, and in a highly reputable place like the Caribe, I'll pay it. Other 4* hotels in San Juan are nice, but not AS nice as others, judging by what I've looked at online. I'm open to any feedback on this hotel or any advice for nicer beaches than the one they offer. I've heard that the beaches in Isla Verde are the best in the area...which 3.5*-4* hotels are on the beach in Isla Verde that people have noticed on either HOTWIRE or PRICELINE?
  8. I recently got a pre-cruise reservation (2/26-2/27) at the Caribe Hilton ($119) through HOTWIRE. Using betterbidding as a tool I was fairly certain that I was getting the Caribe. Now I am looking to book another room on the back end of my cruise for 3/6-3/7 and it seems the 4* avaiable for that price on Hotwire right now, judging by the amenities, is the Conrad for ($119). Which hotel is better overall? I know the Conrad offers a Casino while the Caribe doesn't. Other than that, isn't this a great deal for this hotel?
