Hi, I just recently found this forum and the information on this board is fantastic. I bid on 4* Waikiki Beach and was given the Sheraton Waikiki Beach for $119. I am thrilled with the price, and I do understand that at this price, this is for City View room. I called the hotel to see if it was possible to 'upgrade' to an ocean view room, and was told that it was possible but the cost of the cheapest ocean view was $290/night, so basically I would have to pay the $170/night different. I was wondering if anyone was ever upgraded for free at check-in or offered a 'reasonable' price difference to upgrade? As I said before, I have no complaints about the city view and knew that I was looking to get the best price possible, but just wondered if others have had good experience or if there are any 'tips' for checking in. Thanks in advance, and I will be sure to use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on this website for my future travel needs. Great site!!!
