  1. Hey everyone, Thank you for all your feedback! I actually ended up getting a 2 bedroom suite at planet hollywood towers through their site. It ended up being just a little over $1,000 including taxes and it has a living room/dining room/kitchen in the middle of 2 full bedrooms. I decided since I had to keep going up for priceline it wasn't worth not being able to guarantee the rooms being next to each other, 2 queen beds, etc. For just a little more we were able to get a really nice suite in the heart of everything where everyone will be able to sleep comfortably and everyone be all together. I think the bachelorette will be a lot happier with this as well as everyone can stay together. We will also be able to save money using the kitchen to make meals. I will for sure use Pricline again for another trip to vegas that is not on a holiday weekend and is not for such a large group. Everyone's feedback really helped me make this decision so I thank you!
  2. i am not familiar with vegas at all actually. I tried again today for 5 star.. went up to 140-no luck. I will try again tomorrow.
  3. I just want to make sure I am looking at this right-- if I want to bid for the hard rock. It is the only 4* showing in that area so my chances of getting that hotel are high. However, I haven't seen any recent bids or wins for the hard rock. Would you recommend a starting bid for this hotel?
  4. I bid this morning starting at $90 and went up to $115 for 3 rooms adding rebid zones. I may decide to bid for 4 stars tomorrow-with the taxes and charges it ends up being around $100 per person for hotel which is still good but I would prefer lower--that is why i didnt keep bidding higher. I will keep you posted. thanks.
  5. I will be bidding today and probably for 3 rooms. I will keep you updated with my results. thanks.
  6. I know, it's a chance I will have to take. I can go up to $140-$150 but I would prefer to keep it as low as possible. The nice thing is that there are so many rebidding zones. I was planning on starting around $80-85 and going up.
  7. I am planning my best friend's bacehelorette party memorial weekend in Vegas. We are probably going to have 8 girls at the least. I am going to at least bid for 2 rooms. I am hoping once I get the hotel I can at least request for them to be near each other. Since it is a holiday weekend, rates are high. I would really like to stay in a 5 star in the north or south zones. I would love aria or cosmo but I checked the calendar of wins and it looks like between those 2 zones, people have gotten Wynn and Vdara starting as low as $101 and as high as !140. I would prefer Wynn out of those 2 hotels. If i am bidding for more then 1 room do you think my bids will be more likely or less likely accepted? Would a good starting ground be $80? Are these hotels typically flexible with requesting what beds? Any feedback will be helpful. I plan to start bidding tomorrow. Thank you!
  8. I wanted to let you know-this trip ended up getting canceled but I referred her to this site where she will now set up her own account and use the priceline and HOTWIRE links from this site. thank you.
  9. I just did :) She ended up going through the hotel directly. The dates are March 4-6th.
  10. I am sorry I never responded to this! My sister ended up going through the W-where you bought 2 nights and got the 3rd free that is why I never posted about the result :) Thank you
  11. Hello, I am helping a friend out and she really wants the golden nugget on Fremont. We need suggestions where to start our bid. Currently, it looks like The Golden Nugget is the only 4* hotel so we are safe bidding for just this area. Is this correct? Any feedback would be awesome. Thank you!
  12. she doesnt have a specific range-I just dont want to overbid or underbid. They want to stay in a 4 star hotel so I am thinking either way this will be their cheapest option.
  13. Hello! I have never bid for New York before and I am bidding for my sister who wants to stay in midtown east or central park south. I tried researching what a good starting bid would be but couldn't come up with anything I am confident with. Do you have advice what a good starting bid would be? I looked on hotwire and their rates are in the high $300's. should i start with $200 something? Please advise if you can-thank you!
  14. had tried days before and went up to 125 after adding zones and still rejected. tried today for 110 first bid accepted-probably could have tried for less
  15. I am sort of mad at myself because I bid 110 for the roosevelt and on the first try got it at 110 which means i could have gone lower but oh well !! it is still a great deal and i am really happy. I used the PRICELINE link off of this site. thank you!
  16. Thank you for all the advice. I ended up just booking through the W for 319. A lil more expensive then we wanted but split up between a lot of poeple its not too bad:) I forgot to update you-sorry! I will be bidding soon again and will keep you posted!
  17. I tried up to $200:) Still nothing... So I think you are right with them not accepting anything for a 4 star. However, when you click on Hollywood it shows it being the best deal by the 4 * which is weird. Do they ever put up rooms the day of that were canceled? This is jsut for a fun night so it's ok if I keep trying till the morning of, i can then either do a 3 star or west hollywood if i dont have any luck. The main thing is being close to the W if we are not staying there.
  18. Thank you for the info. That is what I am thinking as well...My plan B would be to do a 3 star in Hollywood. Hotwire has one right now with a bed choice. Do you know which one that is? We would like to be close to the W because we are going to Drai's that night. I think west hollywood might be further than what we want.
  19. I have bid up to $140 for this and I have still been rejected. Do you think I should go higher or wait a few days? I have never bid this much before for this area. If worse comes to worse i could try a 3 star but I would like to stay at the W or Roosevelt
  20. So Sorry i forgot to repost. I bid the next day. tried 115 first--they offered me a hotel for $22 more ahh no thanks added lawndale. got the W for $119 :) it does seem to be the winning bid.
  21. Tried bidding through this site at $110-rejected added lawndale $115-rejected added culver city- $119-rejected I could have added one more but will just try tomorrow :) Ill let you guys know.
  22. Hello! yes, I had used to the link from betterbidding to get my winning bid of $122. I am sorry I did not repsond to this sooner. I ended up getting my extra room for $215 through the W so I did not have to bid. Thanks for everyone's feedback!
  23. Hey! Once I got the W, I just called them and asked for 2 queens instead of the king. They were totally cool with it and since i was a "starwood" member they "upgraded me" which... hey we are all in sales, it sounds real nice but it wasnt an upgrade, but we got 2 queens. I wouldnt mention you have 4 people in your room when you call though, they will want to charge you for additional poeple. I am staying there this weekend. I was able to get a rate of $165 for 3 rooms, and 215 for the 4th room through them directly. However, I was very tempted to bid on PRICELINE since I got it for $122 before. I know they only want 2 in a room though because when i said there would be 4 per room, the rate jumped up, so i said ok well im going to lie then, the reservations girl laughed and just said to be careful. I am not worried about it. The only thing about bidding is you may get the Rooesevelt which i personally have a fondness for. They are a lot more laid back and arent looking to charge you for every little thing. Their brand new club is opening at the W this weekend, however, so I am very excited:) Its for my friends bachelorette party so she got to choose where we stay. GOod luck! Def try the rebidding strategy that they recommneded to me. You can add locations that don't have a 4 star hotel and it's like rebidding right away for the hollywood location because they can't give you lower than a 4 star. Example..Lawndale does not have a 4 star hotel. That is how I landed the rate of $122. I added 2 other territories that did not have a 4 star so i was able to re-bid right away.
  24. their lowest rate now is over $300 so I am thinking about bidding. It makes me nervous but it's way too much money so I will probably move forward with bidding. Is it harder to get low rates with more rooms? I would think it would be better but I have no idea
  25. I have 3 rooms reserved now and need one additional room. I emailed the W to ask if they will honor that same rate.
