  1. To close this thread... I won a room in AC for Saturday Feb. 27 for $170/night (+taxes) at the Courtyard Marriott.
  2. Thanks for the advice. I probably won't book the room until the week before I plan on going (to make sure weather cooperates), but will keep you updated.
  3. General question about the process of bidding and booking your room. I get the concept of you tell them the quality and price of room you are looking for. If you are lucky, your bid gets accepted, however you will not know the specific hotel until you book the hotel. My question is, if your bid is accepted are you automatically booked? Does it required you to click an "Accept" type button before you are charged and subsequently told what hotel your staying at? I ask because I would like to just see what types of prices for a room are accepted by going through the bid process, but not book the room. For instance, I want to go to Aruba and stay at a 4* (doesn't matter which one) but am not necessarily ready to book, just want to get a general idea of what bids would be accepted. If this makes sense any feedback would be appreciated.
  4. Haven't done anything yet, was waiting for some feedback. Any suggestions as far as approach to my bidding. Should I go ahead and bid top since it is unlikely I will get it for 150 or should I start off low expecting it to be denied? Also, if it is denied how should I approach the re-bid?
  5. I'm trying to get a 4* room for Saturday Feb. 27 in Atlantic City. I believe there are two 4* options, Harrahs and Caesars, and either of these are fine. I've never used the bidding capabilities on either Priceline or Hotwire so as much advice as possible is preferred. Current rates range from $280-309. I would like to spend $150 or less. Is this possible? Thanks.
