  1. This was a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal and I wanted you guys to know the amenities they posted for this hotel: Pets Allowed - Business Center - Restaurant - Free Internet - Indoor or Outdoor Pool - Fitness Center - No Smoking Rooms/Facilities. You can update your Hotel Lists if you want. Ths is not a bad hotel and the $97 is more than fair. Thanks guys for keeping this going. Hope thi helps. TobanTraveller
  2. Well Yellowdog - have to thank you again - you were right. I got hung up a day so I lost a couple of dollars off the first offer, but anything under $100 CDN for downtown is great. And right in the heart of downtown. So once again - thanks - you guys are the best!!! :D :D :D
  3. 1 Room 1 person. 80% recommended. Amenities are: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke free; pool (s); Business Center; Indoor Pool(s); Fitness Center; Restaurant(s); Self Serve Laundry? Maybe Novotel?
  4. Good call Yellowdog, The Best Western was upgraded on Hotwire. It shows up on the Standard Rate Hotel Tab as 3.5 hotel. So I booked it through you at $60 CDN or $47 US. Before I did I tried to get lower through Priceline using the way you taught me to include other areas and raising my bid by $5.00 each time ( I started at Downdtown at $42CDN and then added Beauport, Boischatel, Charlesbourg, and Ancienne Lorette to the max of $56 for a 3.5 hotel). They didn't bite. The Best Western will be a good spot for my stay. Thanks Yelllowdog.
  5. I just used the Hotwire page that I had and converted the currency and it comes up as $47.00.
  6. So I did put the quote forward in Canadian dollars (I'm from Manitoba). I would bet that this would be the same hotel given the exchange rate. I booked for one person. As requested the amenities are :FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Internet access, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking and the price is $47 USD.
  7. There is a 3 1/2 star hotrel listed for $60/ night with the following amenities: Free Internet, Pet Friendly, Fitness Center, Restaurants, Indoor Pool (s), Pool (s), Inroom accessibility and Bathroom accessibility. Thoughts?
  8. Thanks, and thanks for the kinds words. We'll catch you on the next trip.... TobanTraveller
  9. :) I tried and tried to use Priceline the way you taught me thereuare. I went as high as $120 / night and still got rejected. So when I saw that Hotwire had the Intercontinental Yorkville for $ 143.00 / night and it was walking distance to all my son'e wedding venues we went there. We booked through your platform to get to HOTWIRE and got the Intercontinental for $ 143 / nite - which they claim was an 11% off the rack rates. In checking the Intercontinental I'm guassing that's about right. While I'm glad I got a hotel of value near where I had to be, I really didn't want to spend alot of money for a hotel during my son's wedding. In any event, Thank you BetterBidding for all your patience and help. You got me the best price possible as usual - you guys are still the best in the business. Tobantraveller
  10. Sorry, I forgot the full facts. The Hotel is listed as a "Downtown Toronto West area hotel" and is "recommended 95% of customer reviews. It is a 4* Hotel and the cost on Tuesday March 15 is $ 130.00 (USD). Amenities are: Boutique hotel, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access. Hope that helps. PS: Hey GoldieATX - will let you know as soon as I know. I will probably try Priceline again on Friday.
  11. Hi, Priceline in Toronto that weekend (our national holiday) just doesn't want to play fair. I went as high as $ 114 with no luck. I even dropped to 3 1/2 stars and still a no. Hotwire seems to be coming close to Priceline here. There is a 4* hotel in Toronto downtown west for $ 131. It has "boutique" under amenities. Looking on your Hotwire list, I think that's the Intercontinental on Bloor St? Am I right? Because if it is, I might just take that because it is within walking distance to my son's wedding locales. If that's within $ 100 of Priceline that $ 100 would be eaten up in taxis. So am I right? Is that the intercontinental on Bloor? TobanTraveller
  12. Hi again, Was away for a while and have found out om the process that I shouldn't book any of the Toronto south area. So how should I bid using just the Priceline Toronto downtown North area???? TobanTraveller
  13. It looks from your list that the 4* list for downtown Toronto South have great hotels as well, and I am not adverse to staying there either. I see that the market rack rate is at about $ 200 a night so I was hoping to get a room for half that or $ 100.00. Sound right? TobanTraveller PS: Good to see you again youarethere. You helped me out alot with San Juan bookings in November. (2 stays at the Marriott Stellaris & Casino for $ 105.00) Tks again.
  14. It's been a while. How should I start bidding on downtown Toronto on Priceline? I will be spending my time near the Priceline map of downtown toronto north. I saw one winning bid for $ 55.00 for a 4* hotel. Please let me know. TobanTraveller
  15. :) Hi all, I just booked the Stellaris thropugh your web site at Priceline. I followed your bidding instructions that you taught me a little while back by adding zones and a five dollar increment. Nights booked are Nov. 12 - 15, 2010 for $ 107.00 / nite for two people. Far better than the listed prices for sure. A resort hotel for the price of a 3 star!! Thanks. We'll be back soon. TobanTraveller
  16. I will be going through again for our post cruise stay. Have to check with my lady - might try HOTWIRE to try & get the Caribe Hilton. Get back soon. Tks again.
  17. Hey thereyouare, Did exactly as you said and got the Mariott San Juan for $ 110.00!!! :) I am very impressed - a resort hotel stay for less that the regular cost of a 3 * hotel. Thanks theryouare and everyone else who helped! TobanTraveller :)
  18. Thanks thereyouare. Great to have someone on my side. Just so you know I won't be able to try this till Wed...Will keep you posted. TobanTraveller
  19. Hey thereyouare, I was going to pay $140 / night for the Embassy Suites using traditional booking sources. So I was thinking if I could get a resort for the same price that would be great. Of course a little less would be even better. With the hotel tax and regular tax $ 140.00 would be my top bid. TobanTraveller
  20. Thanks thereuare. OK. So HOTWIRE is a little outside my comfort zone but not to say we might not try later. Maybe I should try PRICELINE and see if the budget is right. From your lists there are 4 "resorts" on Priceline near as we can figure. They are all good properties and I wouldn't mind satying at any of them. Just preferences that's all. So should I try Priceline "resort"? My better half says to bid starting at $80 and see. Thoughts? Is this a good plan? Also as an aside, if we are successful, do they take the $$$ right away? And do I get some kind of confirmation from the hotel?
  21. We are looking at Oct 29 - cruise day (Nov 1 departure) and from Nov 12 - 15 (check out), so three nights before and after. We are always looking for a deal but like the idea of the resorts, so it seems that people are successful for these resorts at between $ 90.00 - 119.00. I was going to book at the Embassy suites for that same price so an upgrade would be great - same price for a resort hotel. So that price range would be ok. Thanks for replying. TobanTraveller
  22. Im new at this so I am wondering. Going on a cruise Nov 1 looking for pre and post cruise hotel for 3 days each. Is it too early to bid??? It seems like Priceline has better pricing for the Caribe Hilton (or other "resorts") but I am definitely looking at spending at least one part of the stay at the Caribe which means I will have a better chance (through your listings) to get it through Hotwire. Should I start now??? TobanTraveller
  23. I am new at this so I don't understand how you got the Caribe Hilton on Priceline for sure. There are 4 resorts listed in the San Juan area. How do I cut it down to the Caribe Hilton? Or is it just a guess?
