  1. Free parking, Free breakfast, Free internet, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry. Perfectly predicted by the tools on this site.
  2. Free breakfast, Free Internet, Business center, Internet access. Calling this a LaGuardia hotel is pushing it. ($18 Uber to hotel.) In the middle of the huge Chinese community in Flushing. On the plus side: Near subway, staff friendly, great Chinese food nearby and open late to which staff was able to guide us. Room was clean. On the negative side: Dripping water in room above heard for hours in our bathroom. Only two English TV stations on TV. Breakfast minimal (though good coffee). There were definitely long-term guests (saw social workers in breakfast area). If you are smoke-allergic, please note that there are apparently several smoking rooms here (though staff was able to switch us out of one, and there was no odor in the room we got).
  3. Free breakfast/Free Internet/Free parking/Business center/Fitness center/Golf nearby/Pet friendly/Self-service laundry
  4. Atrocious. Dirty common areas, odor throughout, rust and mold in bathrooms and in common areas, minimal toweling in rooms, rooms not clean (including stained sheets). Avoid at all costs -- we did not stay after a Priceline bid/win. (And thus, do not bid 3* or less in Saddle River.)
  5. This was my fault. I knew this hotel was in this zone, know it was awful per online info, and screwed up my bidding. Did not stay there. It is as bad as recent online reviews say. Odors and filthy throughout, mold in the rooms, etc. etc.
  6. Every once in a while you get a major surprise of the positive type. :) Bid $44 for Somerville-Bridgewater, no go, offered $73, passed, added Basking Ridge and jumped to $51, got this Courtyard.
  7. Thanks -- used alternative lodging option (a free one -- my sister).
  8. For 6/23-25: 3 1/2 * $94/night Free internet, Boutique hotelBusiness centerFitness centerIndoor pool(s)Pool(s)Restaurant(s)Self-service laundry. The Madison being called "boutique"? 4* Resort, $87/night Free parking, Business centerFitness centerIndoor pool(s)Internet accessPet friendlyPool(s)ResortRestaurant(s). Am guessing that this is the Westminster being called a resort, but not sure. That would be stretching "resort," IMO
  9. Amenities: Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, pet friendly, fitness center, pool(s), business center, Internet access.
  10. Ugh. This property (originally a Holiday Inn, stylistically looks like late 70s/early 80s vintage) is undoubtedly the worst 3 1/2 star property since I started using PRICELINE and HOTWIRE. Old, dirty public areas, mold on walls, leaking ceilings, and (per other folks) a gross pool and an awful restaurant. No bed bugs; good wifi and TV -- and that's about the end of the positives. I knew this property was possible when bidding, so I can't gripe -- but I can say you should avoid bidding in this zone if possible to avoid this place. (Note: I got this property bidding at 2 1/2 stars. Again, I knew it was possible going in, knowing the rule that you can always get a property with a higher star rating than your bid.)
  11. Princeton South or Trenton North would fit the zone better, IMO, but it's Priceline's sandbox and they get to name it. (In fact, the hotel name is misleading as well -- the hotel is across the street from the Trenton airport. This is the same property previously known, and listed in your hotel list, as the Courtyard By Marriott Ewing Hopewell, which was a more accurate name.) That said, happy with the deal -- I knew that this hotel was a distinct possibility going in.
  12. Thanks much.. I am going to try another option, as I am not an ESA fan.
  13. Help identify? Princeton North - Plainsboro 2 1/2 star. $53. 4/29 thru 5/1. Pet friendly, Suite, free parking, free internet, free breakfast, kitchenette.
  14. Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Internet access.
  15. After gradually increasing bidding and adding zones (this was a good one for that -- there were 6 zones that were fully acceptable at 2.5 stars). Used your PRICELINE link as always.
  16. Please note that this zone is now Fort Lee-Edgewater; Hackensack is in Hackensack - Paramus - Ridgefield Park zone. Amenities: Free parking, indoor pool, pool, business center, accessible path, accessible bathroom, free internet, fitness center, restaurant, internet access, in-room accessibility, accessible parking. Used your HOTWIRE link and got an extra $15 off.
  17. Same hotel (I'm 99% sure) would have been $80 as a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal. Direct rate via IHG $126. However, the review situation is REALLY odd. PL shows as an 8+, but there are an unusual number of scathing reviews on TripAdvisor and Google, and HIE locations don't usually get trashed in reviews. And looking at Google Maps, it seems this is a conversion from a rather pitiful looking property called the Gold Coast Inn. So there are some concerns here.
  18. Wasn't able to get the pizza -- the work obligation canceled so I ended up having dinner with friends at their place. Many thanks, though. Maybe next time.
  19. First time I ever saw a listing like this: "Secaucus-Meadowlands area new to hotwire hotel" -- that is how it was listed on the Hotwire search page. $152.22 for 2 nights with fees. Amenities (and this was all of them): Free parking, free breakfast, fitness center, business center, wheelchair accessible. Used your HOTWIRE link as always.
  20. A bit odd that Staten Island is in New Jersey, but hey. :) (Apparently SI is its own zone in Priceline; tried there first but all bids failed.) Amenities: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Fitness center, Business center, Internet access (the last being redundantly redundant).
  21. Zone name (Mashantucket) does not match those in BB hotel list; assume might replace North Stonington in Mystic - New London? Free parking, free internet, casino, indoor pool, fitness, pool, business, internet, spa, accessible path, in-room accessibility, accessible bathroom, accessible parking.
  22. $67.38 with tax/fees. Lowest rate via Marriott with AAA discount and taxes 168.74. Seems like those standard rates are high for a Fairfield Inn (Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn nearby are cheaper at PL non-opaque rate.) That said, at the price I paid I'm most pleased.
  23. I don't see anyplace that shows this zone. The zone is Swedesboro, in NJ -- I am guessing it's a Philly zone, but I looked under NJ, PA and DE and couldn't find it. Could you possibly place appropriately? Holiday Inn Philadelphia South-Swedesboro 3*, 8/20-21, $58 ($72.28 with tax rec. charge and fees). Amenities: Free parking, Free Internet, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower. With tax and my AAA discount, direct booking would have been $132.25. (And the Hot.wire price went right up to $101 after I booked!) So good deal! Booked using BetterBidding HOTWIRE link as always.
  24. Amenities: Free parking Free Internet Indoor pool(s) Airport shuttle Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Self-service laundry Internet access Golf nearby Tennis nearby Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower Thereafter, added an additional night at $74. Hotel was $130/night lowest available non-opaque rate, making this an excellent deal.
  25. Owing to possible weather issues and possible last-minute need to cancel, have gone with non-opaque reservations with no cancellation penalty.
