  1. Was hoping to pay less overall, but seems there were few deals to be had in this area. Still much less than the prices on Hot.wire and Priceline.Express, so I'm happy! As always, used the PRICELINE link to research and bid. THANKS!!
  2. Thank you so much for your help! You were correct, it was the Sheraton Dallas Hotel by the Galleria. Very happy with this rate, especially since I've tried several days bidding on PRICELINE with no success under $80. As always, I used the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for research and bidding/buying. :D
  3. Also saw this 4* in the Galleria-Park Central zone, and that would work too. $72/night. FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking Thanks for your help. Just trying to find the best place since my MIL will be traveling with us. :)
  4. Thank you! OK, dates are 3/17/14-3/19/14. Need 2 rooms. Here are the amenities listed when I did as you described: FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower Rate is $68/night now. (North Dallas - Addison) Thanks for your help!
  5. 4* in North Dallas-Addison $64 (as of 3/9/14) Amenities listed: pet friendly restaurant smoke-free business center fitness center internet access pool accessibility for blind, deaf Thanks for the help. I'm more familiar with PRICE.LINE, but after bidding several times with no success, I'm thinking Hot.wire is the way to go.
  6. Very pleased with this rate! Same hotel is going for $125 on Kayak. As always, used the PRICELINE link when I researched and booked. Thanks! This site is invaluable. :)
  7. Last minute business trip for my husband. He was finding rates around $200/nt in Milpitas. Bid $72 using PRICELINE link. Was rejected, but PL said I could rebid immediately at $91. Normally I would have declined, but this is last minute and for work, so I accepted and won the Sheraton Milpitas. Very happy with the outcome, and his boss will be happy he saved $$! Thanks BB!
  8. So darn happy right now. :D We too were thinking that the Saturday night was the issue, and your comment confirmed it. We reworked our itinerary a bit, and decided that we could leave early Sunday morning, and then stay later on Tuesday (but still leave that day), and have roughly the same amount of time in Charleston, but only 2 hotel nights instead of 3. Wow what a difference that change made! Got the Doubletree Suites Downtown Charleston (3.5*) for $85/night!!! Beyond thrilled with this win. Thanks so much to you for your help. I was a complete Priceline novice a few days ago. You've taught me well. I won't be afraid to use Priceline again. Looking forward to a fun trip to Charleston. THANKS!!!
  9. Well, I've bid all the way up to $151 for a 3* in downtown, and no luck. Not sure what to do at this point. Really didn't want to pay more than that. There is a 3.5* on PRICELINE EXPRESS for $163 and it includes free internet. Probably still a parking fee though. Wonder why they offer that for $163 but refused my bid of $151? Any advice at this point would be greatly appreciated. Really prefer to be downtown since everything we're doing is right there. Thanks!
  10. I found the 5th re-bid zone. Thank you! I started my bidding at $80 and finished at $110. No luck. I will try again tomorrow. Not sure I really want to go too much higher though, considering there are parking fees and internet fees. I will lower to 3* if necessary. Just like the locations of the 3.5*. Thank You!!
  11. Thank you so much. After plotting out everything we plan to do during our stay, I convinced my husband that a stay at the beach doesn't make much sense. Everything we plan to do is in or near the downtown area. So I have changed my plan of attack a bit. My plan is to shoot for a 3.5* in historic downtown Charleston. If I am doing this correctly, these are my re-bid zones: Charleston Southern University - 2.5* Folly Beach - 3* North Charleston-Northwoods Mall - 3* West Charleston - 2.5* I looked at previous wins for the Doubletree (one of two properties on the list for 3.5*) and it looks like they range from $65-80. I've also read that a Saturday check-in can be a complicating factor when trying for a low rate. (not sure how true that is...?) Here's my thinking.... Select 3.5* Downtown Historic Charleston... Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone1... Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone2... Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone3... Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone4... Any advantage/disadvantage to waiting till last minute (say Friday afternoon) to do this? Thanks for your help.
  12. I have not placed any bids yet. My max bid is $150. Any suggestions for where to start? Thanks.
  13. Thank you for your help. When I look at the hotel list for Mt. Pleasant/Isle of Palms, the only 4* that shows is Wild Dunes. Charleston Harbor is listed as a 3.5*. So if I placed my bid and requested 4*, would I most likely get Wild Dunes? I realize there's risk that I get something else...this is a 3 day trip, we'll make it work. :) Also, can you advise on what bid to place? We leave on Sat. so I don't have a huge amount of time to try multiple bids, etc. The best published rate I'm seeing for Wild Dunes is $236. Thank you so much for your help...truly appreciate it.
  14. Thank you. I have clicked both links. :) Also, after reading some reviews on here, I think we'd prefer Wild Dunes. What can I do to maximize our chances of getting this property?
  15. Thank you for putting both of my posts together. I could not figure out how to modify the first one and get it on the correct page. After reading some reviews about Charleston Harbor, I think Wild Dunes sounds like where we want to be. Am I understanding correctly that both Charleston Harbor and Wild Dunes are considered 4* on Hotwire? Also, how do I determine where to start the bidding? Thanks for your help!
  16. Hello, I'm a total newbie to this, but we would like to go to Charleston, SC this weekend (6/22/13-6/25/13) for 3 nights, and we want the Isle of Palms area, and to be on the beach. High demands, I know. :) Anyway, I'd really like the Charleston Harbor hotel. It's listed as a 3.5* for PRICELINE on this site. Now my questions....how do I determine what to bid on PL, and what can I do to try to ensure this exact hotel? (I know there are no guarantees) Thanks for your help!
