  1. Check my notice under Beachbum423 Denver, Got 4* Westin for $120/nt in Sept thru PRICELINE EXPRESS.
  2. Just took a PRICELINE EXPRESS offer for a 4* Downtown Denver and got The Westin for $120+taxes and fees. Four nights beginning Sept 22 Amenities listed: Pet Friendly Pool Non-Smoking Gym Restaurant Handicap Accessible Business Center Some indication from feedback that this hotel is due for renovation. I'll ask for an updated room at the desk.
  3. I took a Priceline Express offer for $158/nt in the Grand Central area of Manhattan for 3 nights, 3 rooms and got The Renwick hotel on 40th St between Lexington and Park. It's a boutique hotel. Excellent, friendly and helpful staff. Room was spacious, for New York, and excellently appointed. King size bed was very comfortable. Only downside was one of the 2 elevators was out of service. While its in an old building the hotel was totally renovated about a year ago and has been maintained well.
  4. Took PRICELINE EXPRESS offer for 3 nts (9/29-10/2) in this area for $155/nt and got Park Plaza Riverbank 4*, Good feedback on Trip Advisor but there may be construction nearby, Great location
  5. Watched this area for a few weeks and Priceline Express prices were going up and hotels becoming non available so I went ahead with this one. Feedback on TripAdvisor is quite good. Probably busy around here due to Sands Casino. $243 for stay with fees and taxes.
  6. I recall Free Internet on the list of amenities which would have reduced the possibilities on the pinned list to Loews or Sheraton.
  7. After checking PRICELINE EXPRESS several times for an upcoming visit beginning June 19th, the offer of $143/nt for a 4* looked like a keeper. Tripadvisor reviews are generally excellent.
  8. If you are planning a visit to Boston try to avoid days when the Red Sox are playing in town. The rates, at least as found for Priceline Express deals, are 50_100% higher when they are playing home games. Here's the link for the Red Sox schedule: http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/schedule/?c_id=bos#y=2015&m=5&calendar=DEFAULT
  9. Amenities were pool, free Internet, fitness center and business office. FYI, if I would have waited another day the Express Price would have dropped to $136/nt from $168....saving $100 plus taxes. grrr
  10. Took 4 star Priceline Express offer for Hollywood FL and got the Crowne Plaza at Hollywood Beach. I tried 4 star bidding for Hollywood up to $150 and decided to go with the Express offer. Thank you to Better Bidding for letting me know what the possibilities were for this PRICELINE EXPRESS bid.
  11. Got this one on first try at $85 after moving from 4 star to 3.5 in DuPont Circle area. I have read that the hotel is a bit dated and is undergoing renovation work, Tripadvisor reviews are mixed. Location is great. Anyone hear recent reports?
  12. Got this outstanding hotel for $93/nt after bidding $80 for the Dupont Circle area and getting a $93 counter offer which I took. This is a very large hotel located near the national zoo. Room was excellent. Appreciated the lobby restaurant for dinner after deciding not to venture out. Rack rate for s senior was around $240. This was a Friday, Sat eve res. Gotta love this forum
  13. Got the Montreal Westin for $100/nt US for 3 nights 3 rooms. Very pleased. Never been at a bad Westin.
  14. Bid several mid-town areas and finally got the Waldorf for $180. Most I've ever paid for a 4 star in New York and have never stayed at this famous hotel. Hopefully they don't relegate priceline customers to the worst rooms. If anyone has a suggestion, please reply.
  15. Surprised. Got this on first bid for $115/nt.. its Sun Mon so maybe that's why the bid worked.
  16. Just got a Priceline hotel win at the Portola Hotel & Spa At Monterey Bay 4 star Monterey for 2 nts (10/14-10/16) for $115/nt.
  17. Got 3 1/2* Marriott Perimeter Mall Atlanta 6/1 3 nts $60/nt. Tried same area 4* for $60, no go so I lowered stars to 3.5.
  18. After trying daily for the last week I finally got a 4* for this coming weekend for $130/nt, 3 rooms. It must be a very busy weekend as the published rates for 4* hotels have been in the $300-$400+/nt range. I'd have waited longer but my backup cancellable reservation needed 48hrs. My 3rd bid got it after doing $100, $120 and then finally $130 expanding the areas at each step from Convention Center, Downtown then French Quarter. It was pretty aggravating because I've been seeing lots of hits for $80 or less but not this weekend. Good luck to all. Hope this info is helpful.
  19. Tried $60 3.5* no go. Then lowered to 3* @ $60 an got this hotel, is excellent. Thank you all for reporting wins as I wouldn't have tried such a low number with out your guidance. Needed hotel same day as bid.
  20. Got the 4* The Sutton Place Toronto Downtown North 6/11-15,$110, 2 rooms. Actually wanted Toronto Downtown South but looks like the Blue Jays games during my visit may have pushed prices up near the stadium. Bid $100 for 4* North and South...nothing. Needed $110. Anyone have comments about The Sutton Place or parking in downtown Toronto?
  21. Bid 3.5* $65 downtown, then $75 with free rebid airport, then $85 with west asheville and that was accepted.
  22. Got 4* Hotel Felix on first bid for $60, 1 night, 12/22. Reviews indicates rooms are plush, but small. Hotel is considered "botique". Its a slow time of the year for business travel so that's possibly why low price worked. Free wifi is plus.
  23. Got this one on the first bid for O'Hare North for $60/nt. Maybe I should have tried lower. Best price on their website is $199/nt. Not sure I'm crazy about being actually at the airport and am wondering about parking fees, but hey, a 4* for $60 seems like a real bargain. If anyone has hotel feedback, tips or warning, please post.
  24. Tried Midtown 4* at $60, then 3.5* at $55 then finally got win at 3* Midtown Marriott Courtyard for $50/nt, 2 nts. Was pleased to learn there is no parking fee and WiFi is free. Had to call Priceline Customer Service to arrange 2 beds instead of 1 King(no charge) Courtyard wouldn't make change in Priceline res which was for King. This is a great forum. Everyone please place your wins so others are helped. Helped me make my bid here.
