  1. Amenities: Pet friendly, Suite, Boutique hotel, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Kitchenette, Spa services, Accessible path of travel, Accessible parking. Have never been there but its a decent price for Toronto during TIFF.
  2. Amenities: Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking. Decent price for one of Toronto's grand old hotels.
  3. Amenities: Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access. This is a smallish Marriott with no pool but a very nice hotel, literally on top both subway lines.
  4. I got June 1-3 (Fri and Sat nights) at the Marriott Bloor Yorkville for $55.00 per night You could probably get the Sunday night for the same price too. What I tried to do was to book the hotel for the weekend and then use the extend a stay option for the Thursday night It would not give it to me at the same price, but it would give it to me for just over $100.00. I did not accept, 'cause I did not really care whether or not I got that night. But if you're ok with three nights at $55 each and a fourth at 100.00 (works out to an average of $66.25, you could try that. There is a bit of a gamble though. It may not extend your stay at all; and it may not do it for $100.00 Depends on how big a deal it is for you to get the June 30 date.
  5. A big factor is the day of the week for which you are looking. Weekends in Downtown Toronto can be had for a MUCH CHEAPER bid than week days. Any of the 4* properties in Downtown Toronto South or Downtown Toronto North are within easy walking distance or are a short subway ride to most attractions. The only known 3.5* in those areas is the Delta Chelsa in Downtown Toronto North. It too is convenient to everything. For a weekend booking, I would start with a $55.00 bid on a 4* in Downtown Toronto South Then I would add Downtown Toronto North Then I would add the 3.5* If all were refused I would wait a day and re-bid or I would up the bid to about $64.00 For a week night, I would start at $64.00 and not be surprised if I had to get up into the $75.00-$85.00 range. Most of the time, you'll get a successful bid for $75.00 or less if you include the Delta Chelsa in your search. Good luck
  6. Used the PRICELINE link on this site to start the bidding for the weekend of June 3-5, 2011 First bid of $55.00 was accepted We've stayed at this property previously. Nice hotel with free parking and good food at reasonable prices. We're pleased with the site and with the price.
  7. Used the PRICELINE link on this site to bid for July 29-31 Bid $55.00 for a 3.5* or a 4* in Downtown Toronto South and North. Thought that if I got anything it would be the Delta Chelsa and was OK with that. Lo and behold it came up as accepted and it was the 4* Marriott Bloor Yorkville. Stayed there last summer for $64.00. Nice, quiet hotel without a pool. Parking is cheaper than most. It is right on the subway line and Tim's is a one minute walk. Rooms have lockable safes and there is night time security at the elevators. Air conditioning system is new, very quiet and efficient. I'm quite pleased to be going back for another visit

  9. :) Used the PRICELINE link on this site to bid for May 20-22 Bid $55.00 for a 3.5* or a 4* in Downtown Toronto South and North. 10. I did use the PRICELINE link on this site to make all the bookings. Is it not showing that? Tomorrow, will make the separate postings as requested. Got to run now.
  11. Got the same $55.00 rate at the Marriott Bloor Yorkville for the weekends of: July 1-3 and July 29-31. Looks like I bid too much with my initial $64.00 bid! LOL Quite happy with the four weekends at these prices.
  12. :) Used the PRICELINE link to search for April 1-3, 2011 $64.00 for a 4* in Downtown Toronto South was rejected. $64.00 for a 4* in Downtown Toronto North was accepted. Hotel is the Marriott Bloor Yorkville. Stayed there last summer for the same price. Nice, quiet hotel without a pool. Parking is cheaper than most. It is right on the subway line and Tim's is a one minute walk. Rooms have lockable safes and there is night time security at the elevators. I'm quite pleased to be going back for another visit. Used the PRICELINE link a 2nd time, this time to bid for May 20-22 Bid $55.00 for a 3.5* in Downtown Toronto South and North. Thought that if I got anything it would be the Delta Chelsa and was OK with that. Lo and behold it came up as accepted and it was the 4* Marriott Bloor Yorkville. Bonus!
  13. Was looking for something Aug 10-12 4* hotels in Downtown Toronto were showing on HOTWIRE for over $140.00 Hotwire was showing a 3.5* in Downtown Toronto East for $73.00 Smoke Free Fitness Centre Pool Restaurant Business Centre High Speed Internet Figured it was the Delta Chelsa. Went to PRICELINE and submitted a bid of $58.00 for a 3.5* in Downtown Toronto South and Downtown Toronto North. The bid was accepted and it was the Delta Chelsa. Good price, I think, for this hotel.
  14. Hotwire is still showing the downtown 4* properties at over $200.00 Used the PRICELINE link on this site to initiate the following bids: Tried bidding $89.00 for a downtown 4* on Priceline and was refused. Dropped the hotel rating to a 3.5* and bid $85.00 This bid was accepted by the Delta Chelsa. I had bid up to $82.00 for a 3.5 star on another day and had been refused, so I doubt there was much wiggle room under my bid. Got the same hotel for Aug 10-11 for a $58.00 bid so for June 24-26, I'm paying $15-$20.00 a night more than I had hoped. However, it seems to be a prime time and I can live with the price. Big thing is that it is where I want it to be and I do not have to drive at night.
  15. Three times I have booked that set of amenities in Downtown Toronto West. Twice I got the Sheraton. Once I got the Renaissance Centre which is attached to the Sky Dome/Rogers Centre As you point out, that set could apply to others as well.
  16. Thanks for the "educated guesses" Not liking to drive at night, I'm going to wait a while and hope the prices on downtown hotels drop into a reasonable range. Failing that, I'll do a "drive by" of these properties when I'm in Toronto in mid-May and see how accessible they are to TTC, and what hours the TTC operates in those areas. I can postpone a decision until after that scouting trip.
  17. Amenities showing are: fitness centre pool restaurant business centre laundry spa Used the HOTWIRE link here when searching for June 24-26 This hotel came up at $89.00 The hotwire hotel list does not show any 4*s in the Don Valley area Any ideas on what it might be? thanx stw
  18. I'd suggest that you keep trying the 4*'s for a while before trying the 2.5 stars I got the Marriott Bloor Yorkville for $64.00 (Downtown Toronto North) for the end of July, so your $fig is in the right area You might also try dropping to a 3.5* and including Downtown Toronto North This brings the Delta Chelsa into play and I got that for $58.00 for Aug 11 Your 2.5* might be the Days Inn. Could also be the Best Western Primrose or the Bond Place Years ago, I spent a week in the Days Inn one night. I think I could stand in the middle of the room and touch both walls. I have not tried YOUR June dates, but I'm not having much success with June 24-26 I know the G-20 Summit is in Toronto that weekend, and it is also Gay Pride Week (and I want to go there WHY?) :) Could not find any major special events so I'm not sure what could be driving up the prices during the time for which you are searching. Good luck with your search.
  19. Got the Marriott Toronto Bloor Yorkville Edited the post so the info is readily available Don't know how to edit the heading to include this info.
  20. Used the PRICELINE link on this site to bid $64.00 for July 30-Aug 1 in Downtown Toronto South. That bid was refused. Then I erred. Sorry. Used the link on the e-mail I received to add Downtown Toronto North to the bid. That bid was accepted, and I got the Marriott Toronto Bloor Yorkville Have not stayed at this hotel before, but others have given it good reviews. Pleased with $64.00 rate for a 4* on a Holiday Weekend in Dowtown Toronto. I've often used HOTWIRE, but this is my first booking through PRICELINE. We'll see how it goes. Apologize for not returning to use the link off this site for the 2nd bid. Will try to be more diligent in the future.
  21. I booked the 3.5 Star London Delta Armouries for Nov. 6-8, 2009 through Hotwire Icons showing then were: fitness centre, pool, restaurant, business centre, laundry, high speed internet, with nearby golf and tennis. They do not show a smoke free icon, though I believe all rooms are smoke free. In fact, I think it is a city by-law. I paid $51.00 per night plus $ 16.69 taxes and fees for two nights. Valet Parking was to be $14.00 per night, but they must have liked me. I was not charged. The hotel was very nice: beds comfortable, room spacious and nicely furnished. The bath, room and hotel in general were spotless. The building is an modern tower built inside an historical facade. Very nice. The staff was polite, courteous and helpful. The hotel is located on the edge of the downtown core with all downtown venues within easy walking distance. The malls are about an 8 minute drive away. Plan to try to repeat for 2010 if and when I see a similar price listed.
  22. Not sure how to edit a post so will do it this way. My stay was August 28-30 2009. Forgot to mention that outdoor parking was free. The booking I made this week was for the spring and after my stay I will post an update.
  23. Booked this hotel earlier in the week for $59.00 per night plus $21.42 for taxes and fees for two nights. Icons show smoke free rooms, fitness centre, pool, restaurant, business centre and high speed internet. Booked the same hotel for the same price last August. The hotel was quiet, the beds comfortable, the rooms cheerful, clean and nicely furnished. The staff was pleasant, efficient and very helpful. Had a sandwich in the restaurant one night. Food was good, service quick and the price reasonable. There is a Big Boy right across the street. For Canadians, there is a Tim's within a 2min drive and there is a neat seafood specialty restaurant across the road from Tim's. For shoppers, the 12 Oaks Mall is about a 5 minute drive in one direction, whle the Westland and Canton malls would be about 10 minutes in the other direction. I just discovered this site today, so if I have not posted this correctly I apologize. Please advise if I have erred in any way.
