  1. Hi, as a follow up on this thread: Priceline Sheraton New York i bid for a 4* 12/23 to 12/25 two minutes ago and got the Algonquin Hotel for $95. I used the same strategy as in the mentioned thread. Looks like a good deal, doesn't it? David
  2. Ok thank you. They cancelled it after checking the flight. Now i'll start a new thread for the 23-25. Thank you all for your help! David
  3. Unfortunately it doesn't matter anymore since i'm still in Germany. All flights are cancelled due to snow. Anyway, now I need a room for Wednesday to Friday. Is there a way to get a refund for the room? David
  4. I land tomorrow, Sunday at 3PM. 2 people are travelling. I'm fine with a shuttle service, but i don't want to take the subway with all the luggage.
  5. Thanks a lot for your help and tips! Does anyone know how to get there from Newark Liberty Airport? Options seem to be $75 for a taxi or $24 for a shuttle service which takes "a couple of hours". David
  6. Hi, I proceeded as you suggested and ended up with the "Sheraton New York Hotel And Towers" in Midtown West for $115. The price is good compared to Expedia (~$170) and the hotel website (~$200). The location seems to be very central and close to the subway. It got some bad reviews (mold in the shower, broken inventory...) so I'm not sure what I think about it... What do you think? Anyway, thank you very much for your tips and investigation. I appreciate it very much and it saved me money. David
  7. Thanks for your replies. So I decided to bid for a 4* in CPS, ESB, MSG, MTW, TS and MTE. As I understood the little "howto" I'll start with 4* and $90 and add 5$ and a zone for every rejection? David
  8. Thanks again for your reply. My main demand is a clean room. I guess the 3.5* rooms will also be ok? We want to see the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the apple store and my girlfriend want to see some shops in soho (i guess?). Taking the subway or a taxi is ok for us. Can you suggest us something? Midtown East/West? Thanks, David
  9. Hi, thanks for your reply. I thought about $150 per including taxes. Do i get 3.5* for that? What is the best area? David
  10. Hey Guys, i'm going to New York with my girlfriend. We haven't been in New York before and want to see the central park, soho and go shopping. A friend suggested me the ravel hotel which is around $100 without taxes. Another friend suggested me to use this PRICELINE and this forum. The problem is, i don't even know where to go. I want at least 3* or 3.5*. What do you think? Can anyone suggest me something? David
