  1. Ah, good to know about your bids. No wonder my $115 bid for a 3* went no where. Normally I stay in a 3* for $45-60 too. The only thing I see going on is the end of the King Tut exhibit - but not sure that would draw this huge crowd
  2. I was looking for these dates too. Nothing is available via hotwire, Expedia is very empty, and now I'm worried I won't get a Priceline bid. :)

  4. Sure thing: 11/1/2007 to 11/5/2007 Thanks!
  5. Hello all, I am trying to figure out what the following hotel is: New Orleans Downtown Customer Favorite! Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Business Center High Speed Internet I think this is the InterContinental, but the Business Center is confusing me. What do you think? Thank you!

  7. They certainly are high. However I console myself by seeing rates of $199-500 elsewhere! Edited to add: I just noticed this is a new addition to the Napa lists of hotels.

  10. Thank you both! Yesterday (prior to reading your latest response) I bid $75 after the counteroffer and got the same counteroffer. Today I bid $85 and $95, both with the same counteroffer. This is what I got all times: We searched hundreds of options to find your hotel room, however we were not able to find a hotel that would accept your price for $75 per room, per night. Your credit card has not been charged. During our search we found a hotel room available for $123 per room, per night. If you are willing to accept this new price, you can get your hotel room right now. Looks like right now $123 is the magic number.
  11. Opps, I started that post prior to getting the $123 counteroffer. :)
  12. Thank you both! Thereuare- I am fine splitting the bid and just bid September 4-7. My $60 Napa bid returned me a $123 counteroffer. I think my maximum bid is in the $150 range. The B&B rates are between $250-300 a night. BEAV- Thank you for that strategy, as I said above, the $60 Napa bid returned me a $123 counteroffer. Right now we have September 4, 5, 6 at one B&B and 7 and 8 at another, checking out the 9th. Somehow I missed that festival while doing my research, so now I'm just glad we have a place to sleep Friday night. I had noticed that Expedia does not have Embassy Suite inventory (yet) for that weekend. Whereas the rooms are available via the Embassy Suite site. I think you are right that inventory has not yet been released to Priceline. So now the question is, how high should my next bid be? Hotwire has the Marriott for these dates at $142.
  13. Hello! Based on what I've seen here and that other board :) ... I started bidding at the oh so low rate of $60 for a 3* in Napa Valley. Sure I was dreaming there a bit, but I figured why not start at a rate others have gotten in August. Well now after days of bidding, I am up to $110 for a 3*. No dice. Not even a measly counter offer. The dates are September 4 to September 9. I have also bid September 4 to September 8. Past history has returned the Marriott Napa and the Embassy Suites Napa. A look to the rack rates for those nights shows $269 and $264, respectively. We are currently booked into a set of expensive bed and breakfasts, but are trying to reduce costs. Any suggestions as to strategy here? What should I raise my bid to? Thank you!
  14. Your Price Has Been Accepted! Hilton New York Check-In Date: Sat, Jul 29, 2006 Check-In Time: After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sun, Jul 30, 2006 Check-Out Time: 12:00 PM Your Offer Price: $125.00 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $250.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $51.14 Total Charges: $301.14 Used SB Link.
  15. I've stayed at this hotel as a Priceline guest. Our room was average and they treated us very nicely. The concierge made dinner reservations and various telephone calls for us.
  16. Hello, We are also travelling to San Francisco for Labor Day weekend, however we are only 1 couple and our dates differ slightly. I am not sure if you read my post here: PRICELINE SAN FRANCISCO USW -- I made various bids for the USE zone up to $85 before bidding the USW zone and getting an accepted bid for $83. I hope this helps somehow.
  17. Do you have a price range you are looking to accommodate?
  18. Hey Thereuare, I got the $22 counteroffer at the $75 (USW) and believe I then bid $78, $80 (last rejected bid), then $83 (accepted).
  19. Your Price Has Been Accepted! A dozen+ bids for Union Square East/Embarcadero and Union Square West zones using various free rebid combinations. Starting bid of $65 (in both zones) maximum bid of $85 (for USE) and $83 for USW. At two points I received a $22 counteroffer (at $75 in USW and $85 in USE). Figured if anything came up, it would be a Hyatt or Hilton as they seem to be popular. We are happy to get a smaller boutique hotel like the Prescott at $83, especially during a holiday weekend. Used SB Link. Your Offer Price: $83.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 4 Subtotal: $332.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $58.76 Total Charges: $390.76 This board is so so valuable. Thank you!
  20. I just wanted to update. We've had to postpone this trip till September due to a family illness. I guess I should be happy (?) my 40+ bids never yielded me the long weekend in San Juan for July 4th. Feh. I did see someone got the dates, and at the Caribe Hilton, for $77. I was obviously bidding too early. Thanks for all your help.
  21. Hello again, I have bid on this multiple times since my last post, with a minimum bid of $65 and a max bid of $95. Still no accepted bids. Rates for the El San Juan are $242 and rates for the Caribe Hilton have been holding at $190. Any further advice? I am torn here. I don't want to book our flights without a hotel, but the flight prices are climbing too.
  22. Here ya go.. Priceline Hotel List But be careful, "This list is NOT a complete list of all hotels that Priceline offers in this area, it is ONLY a compilation of hotels that have already been reported on this forum. Hotels are added/removed by Priceline all the time, and star ratings can change at ANY time. As well, the geographic boundaries of an area are subject to change ..."
  23. Ok, will do. I am attempting to hold out and restart the bidding process on Monday.
  24. The only problem with the new, improved 24 hour rebid time, is that it's easy to become obsessive, must... bid... everyday. EVERY... DAY! Similar bids as yesterday, but I have 1 left. TILL TOMORROW! Still no dice. I also tried 6/28-7/3 and 6/28-7/4. Nada. Given that the room rates at the Caribe Hilton are still $161-170, I think (hope) perhaps the rooms have just not opened up yet for my dates. Maybe I'll take the weekend off and start bidding again Monday.
  25. Ah, I just got an e-mail about the new 24 hour rebid time. Fantastic!
