With the car rental there was no place to actually name my price, so I did not get a chance to place a bid, unlike the website where I just bid for a hotel room. There I could enter a price in a blank space. With the car rental I saw a button saying "name your price", but no blank space. After clicking on the button, yes, the retail service appeared. Am I overlooking something?

Hi all, thanks for helping me understand PRICELINE bidding! I am really excited to report that I just succeeded in getting a bid accepted through Priceline for US$ 95.00 plus tax, at a total of $ 113.27, for the Marriott Resort Stellaris in Aruba ( I had been hoping for it). Initial bid was 2 weeks ago at $ 70.00 first for a resort, then 4 star, then 3 1/2 star. I increased by $5.00 every few days. At my $ 90.00 bid for a 3 1/2 star hotel I received a counter offer asking for $ 22.00 more, but I did not go for it . The following day I offered $ 95.00 for a 4 star hotel, and Bingo! :)

Hi, I am new to this amazing forum. I was just trying the "name your own price" feature on Priceline to rent a car in Aruba for a week from Jan 23/10, but then was not offered an option to name my price. Instead, a page showed up with a number of different car rental companies with weekly prices, no better than what I can get on line the regular route. Earlier, I had already tried to get a deal by using some of the discount codes, no deal there either... Am I doing something wrong? Should I have tried for less than a week? Has anyone recently succeeded in bidding for a car rental in Aruba? Would appreciate to hear from you.
