  1. Started at $64, then rebid at $2 increments. Last rejected was $74 and finally won at $76. Here are the details: Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $76 Subtotal: $76 Taxes & Fees: $17.72 Total Charges: $93.72 Daily self-serve parking is $20 but it looks like there might be free street parking. Website price is $184 plus tax. I used the BetterBidding link to PRICELINE as always!
  2. 4* LAX Renaissance $70 February 25, 2010 - February 26, 2010 Something must be going on during this time as I had rejected bids through several days from $45-65. Regardless, we are very happy to stay at this property for this price. Hotels near Disneyland and San Diego to follow in subsequent threads. (As an aside, I looked into getting a hotel at the Vancouver airport prior to our departure and if it isn't full, it's priced near $900 per night - 2010 Olympics!) And as always I used the PRICELINE link from the site.
  3. I am trying for the same/similar hotel for the date 02/25/10 - 02/26/10. I am using the PRICELINE links from this site. I'll start a new thread when I win. FTR - Rejected bids $45 $50 added Culver City
  4. I've lived in the Vancouver area for 40+ years. I know it quite well. If you have any questions (or anyone else) feel free to ask away or PM me.
  5. I used the BetterBidding PRICELINE links to order. Just came back from the stay. Weather was bad and we were unable to get past security to check out the venues. We knew this going there so no big deal. At least there was no line up for anything. We received comp parking through BCAA (any AAA card would suffice) which was a $20CDN value. This is a must in Whistler. You should get a membership card if you plan on staying any length of time. There is no free parking though some hotels have it included. The 3.5* winning bid turned out to be a tiny bachelor suite. We upgraded ($30) to a 1 bedroom suite with a King bed and full kitchen. Plenty of room for 4 adults to sleep if required and recommended if you are going to have a longer stay. Most amenities were down for repairs/refurbishing prior to the Olympics/main winter ski season. The in/outdoor pool and indoor hot tub were the only things open. Even the restaurant (Milestone's) was closed as they were renovating and putting in an Elephant & Castle. Staff were great but this hotel has some age showing. The hallway carpets were filthy but everything else was acceptable. In hindsight I should have bid more and tried for the Fairmont. I've been there before and it is a true 4*. Whistler Delta Suites are not 3.5*, I would give them no more than 3* with all amenities up and running.
  6. That's a great deal. What was your bid history on it?
  7. Depending on your needs (location/amenities/dates) you might want to consider renting a cabin? Most hotels have a fold out couch. The Fairmont Chateau Whistler is the best 4* here.
  8. Accepted bid: The date in the title is correct. US$85.00 Delta Whistler Suites 3 1/2* Listed: A one bedroom goes for $99CDN Priceline offers it at $93USD Failed bid(s): I couldn't get anything in a 4* for $135
  9. 2010 Olympics in Vancouver and Whistler areas. I know there is price gouging going on during that time but there are deals before hand. Any chance on a map of this area being added? Several of my friends use Priceline and I recommended this site to them.
  10. I am in the Vancouver area and we are being bombarded in through the media of all the great current deals. Apparently there is a lull in bookings in venues just prior to every Olympics. I am hearing 1/2 off prices to 4 for 3 deals. I am going to use Priceline for the first time. I will be using your links. I plan on getting a 4* (hopefully the Fairmont) but it doesn't really matter too much. I know that there are ZERO 4*s in Squamish and I will use that as a second bid. Median price is $213USD retail. Fairmont is listed at that price. A phone call direct to them resulted in no discount and their listed $229CDN. $23 dollar savings for Government rates. Hotwire offers a 4* Condo for $133.
