Well I called hotwire to question whether this hotel is really beachfront...and they called the hotel while I held on the line...and it turns out that it is in fact not a beachfront property. They refunded my reservation in full and gave me $50 hotwire bucks to use towards a future booking. Thanks for suggesting that I contact HOTWIRE about this!

I believe the property ID for this listing was previously unknown....I was not able to figure this one out ahead of time, but decided to take a gamble and went for it anyway... Miami South Beach... Checkin 12/22, Checkout 12/23... $179/night.... Boutique, Beachfront, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, High Speed Internet... I was a little surprised/disappointed when it came up as the Strand Ocean Drive....While I am not intimitely familiar with this hotel I question hotwire's 4* rating...also, not sure if I agree that this property is "Beachfront"--having an Ocean Drive address does not necessarily equate to "Beachfront" in my opinion.

Yes, I am assuming that I will have to pay an additional $15/day resort fee on top of what I already paid through priceline. Just as an fyi, I found the Royal Palm advertised for $119/night for all of April and May on Travelzoo: http://hotels.travelzoo.com/florida-hotels/234126. I didn't know about this deal until after bidding on my stay at this hotel.

On 3-26 I bid $100 for 4* in South Beach 4/16-4/18, was rejected but got offer message saying that if I am willing to offer an extra $22/night, my original bid would be accepted. So, I immediately placed a bid for $122/night for the same nights, neighborhood, and star rating and it was accepted by Royal Palm. I then chose to extend my stay by 2 nights at the same $122/rate, so now I am checking in on 4/14 and staying a total of 4 nights at the $122 rate...I am very much pleased and think this is an excellent deal! :)

i ended up bidding on priceline for my south beach trip 4/2-4/5. i bid $135/night for a 4* or better and won a stay at Miami Beach Marriott At South Beach..very happy with this hotel and price..

Hotwire currently is showing a 4 star property at $152/night with these as the amenities: Beachfront, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service). I think it is the Crown Plaza Beach Resort, but I am not sure. Can anyone please help me to confirm if it is in-fact the Crown Plaza property?
