  1. Expensive for this hotel but seems like all rates are very high for these days. I used the link to PRICELINE from the site.
  2. First bid of $70.00 accepted. Always hate when you feel like you may have left some dollars on the table but very nice hotel for the price.
  3. $70 first bid win on the Hilton Downtown 4* Maybe should have started at $50 and worked up but 49% savings from retail price on the site.
  4. First bid $60 was accepted. Perhaps try $55 to start but happy with price and quality hotel. Marriott Cool Springs 5/27-5/29 3.5 * I used the PRICELINE link from this site for bidding. Good luck
  5. Grand Hyatt 4* Buckhead $65.00 check in 2/24 checkout 2/25 First bid was $65.00 and accepted. Did not see much data on site to base first bid so not sure if it could have been lower. $65.00 is a good rate however. I used the PRICELINE link to book.
  6. Yeah between the time I pulled it up and was able to book online and getting PRICELINE on the phone they must have sold the last rooms at the lower rate. I guess as in everything in life "timing is everything". I did use the PRICELINE link on this page to book the hotel as always. Happy New Year!
  7. Thank you for the info. I got on the phone with PRICELINE, they found the hotel room listed on the Westin website for $109.00 a night and then told me when they tried to book it the room was sold out so no price gaurantee for me :) I then pulled it up and was able to get to reservation page, told the CS rep that and his response was if "If I can't book it I am not providing you the gaurentee" I thought I had turned lemons into lemonaide but no lemonaide just more sour lemons :)
  8. Yeah I have been bidding for years so the "rookie" mistake is really a stupid mistake. Well no looking back but I at least know what I did wrong. Happy New Year!
  9. I was attemting to land a hotel in Buckhead area or Mid-Town and had been bidding with a startegy of 4* hotel added the Perimeter on my 7th attempt. Ended up getting the Westin North Permieter, only problem I bid $112 and the hotel website is listing rooms for $109 with breakfast included. Made a stupid rookie mistake....Ugh! I had started my bids at $90 based on some posts that had winning bids in Buckhead for the 31st. I hope 2011 is better. :)
  10. World Center Hotel Downtown - Soho - Financial District 144 Washington Street New York, New York 10006 3.5* winning bid was $226.00 I have no idea if this hotel is a nice property but at least I now have a room for the two nights.
  11. I attempted on PRICELINE to get a hotel room checking in on the 28th and out on the 30th of September. 3.5* hotel and bid up to $250.00 with no luck. I just need to be in the city but location is not the issue. I would like at least a 3.5* and of course would love to have it at a decent price. Help! Thanks
  12. 3* Courtyard Marriott 9/8-9/9 $49.00 4400 W. Wendover Ave Attempted dowtown 3 1/2 * property; started at $45 bid up to $55 then changed to 3* and added Greensboro west and dropped bid to $49. May have overpaid some for this property based on other reports.
  13. $98.00 for the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel 606 Congress Street Boston, Massachusetts 02210 Started bidding at $70.00 4 bids later got hotel
  14. Using the PRICELINE link from this site I just booked the Hyatt Regency Boston for $80.00 per night. Started at $70.00 and went up $5.00 per bid until the winning bid of $80.00 was accepted.
  15. I just booked the Hyatt Regency Boston for $80.00 for the night of 12/03/09 using the link from this site to PRICELINE. I started at $65.00 for a 5 star and after three bids and increasing to $80. landed the room. I need to bid again for Boston for the nights of 12/9 and 12/10. Suggestions?
  16. Thanks for the lesson! I am a "newbie". Can you point me to a are where I can learn about the chance to keep bidding after the trhee times and you are locked out deal with Priceline? I appreciate the advice.
  17. I just booked and got the Hyatt Regency Montreal for 11/18 and 11/19 at $92.00. I started at $70.00 it was delcined but the site said if I added $22.00 I could get a room without changing stars or date etc. My question is did I do the correct thing by just raising my bid the $22 or should I have just went up $5 a bid? I am new at this and trying to learn best strategy. Teach me? Thanks
