  1. Embassy Suites Downtown Chicago Lakefront

    7/3/10-7/10/10

    $69

    Amenities:

    Suite

    Complimentary Breakfast

    Fitness Center

    Pool(s)

    Restaurant(s)

    Business Center

    High-speed Internet Access

I used the Better Bidding HOTWIRE link to book. Thanks so much for such a great site. I usually only book 4* hotels when I go through opaque booking sites like HOTWIRE or PRICELINE. However, thanks to Better Bidding, I felt confident going for a 3.5* because I suspected that the hotel would end up being the lakefront Embassy Suites - which it did! I'm super happy with the $69 rate, and I'm looking forward to a week in Chicago without breaking the bank!

  2. Hi all,

Last year I stayed at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel on the Big Island, and I absolutely loved it! There is currently a listing on Hotwire that looks like it might be the HBPH, but the amenities are different from those in the Better Bidding Hotwire Hotel list. Any thoughts?

    Current Hotwire listing

    4 1/2* Waikoloa- Kohola Coast

    3/6/2010 - 3/13/2010 (and many other dates) $183

    Beachfront

    Smoke free rooms

    Fitness center

    Pools

    Restaurants

    Business center

    High-speed internet access

    Golf nearby

I wonder if the "beachfront" amenity is the key here. The hotels, resorts, and condos on the Kohola coast mostly seemed to be "ocean front" by Hotwires definition rather than "beachfront."

Opinions are much appreciated! And, thanks again for such a cool site.

  3. HOTWIRE:

4* Orlando (Lake Buena Vista - Downtown Disney) Caribe Royale

    12/23/09-12/27/09 $94

    Resort

    Suite

    Fitness Center

    Pool

    Restaurant

    Laundry Facilities

    High Speed Internet Access

    Golf Nearby

    Tennis Nearby

I said that I'd be checking in with 2 adults and 1 child. It looks like if I had said only 2 adults, the price might have been a bit less expensive. I have stayed at the Caribe Royale twice before, and I have always been pleased with it. The first time I stayed was just after a remodel, so the furniture, carpet, etc. was in excellent condition. The second time showed a bit of wear and tear. I suspect I'll see the same again, but I still think it's worth the price. For me, the key is that the suite layout has two, completely separate rooms with a door between them. It makes the bedroom very private from the living room.

Thanks for all of the info on this board! I booked using the HOTWIRE link.
