  1. 48 bucks a night - September 2 - September 6 - Hilton Indianapolis North - 1st bid 45 - countered at 52 which I declined - re-bid 24 hours later at 48 accepted
  2. Had a great stay at Staybridge Suites in Fishers. Large comfortable rooms. Full fridge, microwave, dishwasher, stovetop (no oven). Breakfast was better then average with typical continental offerings plus waffles, eggs and another hot item that changed daily. Evenings Tues-Fri offered food and drinks for 2 hours for free as well. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had only planned to stay 3 nights and then move on to family or friends but extended our stay another two nights for basically the same rate as Priceline rates (4 bucks a night more) which was still less then half what they wanted in their posted online rates! At our last breakfast we talked with someone who is having an extended stay with family - something like 2 months who felt they had negotiated a great rate and was shocked because while they wouldn't say what they were paying he did say it was a lot more than us. Wonderful stay and if you win this hotel you will enjoy your time. Not a luxury hotel but if you want luxury I guess you wouldn't bid on a 3* :-)
  3. Just booked Staybridge Suites Indianapolis-Fishers - 3 nights June 28- July 1 - 45 per night - total 166.02 First bid accepted As always used the B.B. PRICELINE link.
  4. Bids of 60, 63, 65 rejected all with counter offers of 88. Finally got it for 68USD with taxes and fees the total was 160.52 Actually needed an extra night - offered me a chance to add an extra night when I tried to do it they wanted 108 so I declined. Will try again tomorrow and hopefully get the same hotel for close to the same amount. All in all pretty happy - looks like a good hotel and the price was less then half what it would have been if i booked through the hotel itself
  5. Hi Friends! Okay - my control freak nature is getting the best of me. I know March 30 is a long way away but I am beginning to wonder if it is time to lock in a hotel. Found the following on Hotwire for a Stay from March 30- April 2 - 5 star for 116USD (plus 48 in fees and taxes) city centre musuem quarter smoke free rooms, business centre, pool, fitness centre, restaurant I am thinking it is the Grand Hotel Amrath - or is it soemthing else. Any thoughts on if I should go with this price (hotel website lists it at 250 a night) or is it likely to go much lower? Tripadvisor gives it a 4.5 - anyone ever stay there with any thoughts about it? Thanks for your help!
  6. LOL - wishful thinking on the gold I suppose <g> thanks for your help - now to decide if I wait and see if the deal gets better, book it or offer on PRICELINE (which I have never used before)
