I was just looking at Priceline Express. They have two hotels in the historic district. One is not pet friendly. The other one is pet friendly but looks to be the Days Inn which has not received very good reviews at all.
Thanks. I had not followed up as we didn't book through PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, but I've entered that information now.
We're currently looking at staying in St. Augustine for three nights, from May 16 through the 19th, but our schedule is VERY flexible. Probably looking at around 2.5 * hotel. Hoping to keep it to $160 a night or less. Our main issue though is that we would like to stay in, or not far from the relatively small historical district. However, Hotwire only lists St. Augustine and St. Augustine beaches, with the historic district included as part of St. Augustine. The problem is that the St. Augustine area continues over 6 miles west to the interstate and I'd hate to stay at a place that is overlooking I-95 and have to drive in every day.
I upped my bid but kept getting turned down. Eventually it got to the point where I was able to book a decent hotel in San Pedro through an OTA at a price below what I was bidding with PRICELINE.
We're interested in booking a room in St. Augustine, Fl. We wish to stay in the historic district. This area is encompassed by the St Augustine Florida area on HOTWIRE. Unfortunately this area also heads 6.5 miles west, taking it just past I-95. Is there anyway to find a hotel that is actually in the historic district using HOTWIRE?
I booked with Hot.wire through BetterBidding.com. The price is per night. That's $100 per night off the regular rate!!
Those are the exact amenities. Thank you very much! My wife has to check on changing one appt. before we can book.
Hi, I'm looking at a Key West 4.5 star hotel for April 14 for three nights.
The following is priced at $295 right now.
The amenities are as follows:
Complimentary Internet
Resort
Pet Friendly
Near Beach
Oceanfront
Fitness Center
Pool(s)
Restaurant(s)
Business Center
It has a 95% hotwire recommended rate
They charge a resort fee of $28.13 per night
Thanks for your advice. I guess we'll just keep upping the price and hopefully get lucky. I know there are some nice 3.5* hotels available but I'll want to research lower star ratings before committing.
I need a hotel for one night on 10/10 in San Pedro, CA prior to a cruise. I saw one member bid $75 a night for a 2 nite stay starting 10/19 for a 3.5* hotel and his bid was accepted. The bid was just placed several days ago. So I bid the same $75 and the bid was not accepted. I added a zone with no 3.5* or higher hotels, increased the bid to $80 and was refused. My wife then did the same thing going as high as $88 but no luck.
Before trying again later today I was hoping for some suggestions for bidding.
Thanks!

I just booked a 3* Hotel in Treasure Island, Fl for Oct. 25 & Oct. 26 (2 nights) through this site's HOTWIRE link. The hotel's amenities are:
Free Parking, Free Internet, Near Beach, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, Self service laundry & Internet Access.
I received the Treasure Bay Hotel & Marina for $85 a night. Price on other sites $134/night.
Thanks for your reply. I'd be concerned about a large pet fee eating up any HOTWIRE savings. I'd also be concerned that I'd book the hotel and find the amenities had some errors and they would not allow pets at all.
I know this has been covered before, but it looks like it was covered before Pet-Friendly was listed as an amenity. Can I assume that if I book a hotel that lists Pet-Friendly as an amenity that I will be able to bring my 3 1/2 pound dog? As I type this question it sounds like it's not such a good idea to book with Hotwire in this case. Thank you for your suggestions.
Just booked through Hotwire. Got the Hampton Inn & Suites Chesapeake - Battlefield Boulevard. Paid $68/night, but also used a $20 discount code Hotwire sent to me. Final price was $303 including tax & fees for four nights. Same thing through Hotels.com was $461, & that was a non-refundable purchase also. The refundable price was $542.
BTW, although the e-mail with the discount code said I had to click through this email I was able to get the discount clicking through the link on this website.
Thanks. Still firming up the exact dates. I'll post the results when I book.
If you go back to HOTWIRE and click the red SHOW ME button next to this offer (the one with the price in it), then on the ensuing page click the 'See all' link under the amenities, do you see more than what you've posted above?
Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
In addition to what I listed previously:
Golf Nearby
Tennis Nearby
Accessible for the blind
Accessible for the deaf
Accessible path of travel
In-room accessibility

Tried a couple of bids on PRICELINE for 4* hotels (only level pet friendly) but did not win. Found a hotel with very good ratings (Southern Oaks Inn) that's pet friendly. We'll probably book with them after verifying pet policy.
