  1. I am looking to book a hotel 2/4-2/10 in cancun and there's a 4.5* all inclusive in the convention center zone that says it'll be either a hyatt, intercontinental, sofitel or Le Meridien. However, when I search in this area of the convention center, the only hotel I THINK this could be is the hyatt ziva (none of the other hotel brands have hotels in that area). When I looked on revealhotels.com, it's guessing a hotel in a different area (secrets silversands riviera maya) and on the bidding helper on betterbidding it's not showing any hotel (just spins trying to guess). What are the odds this is they hyatt ziva? I'm only curious because if hotwire is saying it's in that area, but I buy it and it ends up being in a totally different area (like riviera maya), can i get a refund from hotwire for selling me a hotel in the wrong area? Any guesses what this hotel might be?
  2. used the PRICELINE link from betterbidding to make the purchase. tried $60, asked me to boost to $80, went up $5 intervals until I won this hotel at $70. Pretty happy with this purchase overall
  3. starting bidding at $45, got rejected. rebid again using laguna beach (free rebid) for $50, got rejected (offered a free bid for $65 but rejected it). tried to bid again with laguna hills AND laguna beach (free rebid) for $55 lost bid (priceline offered free bid for $70, rejected that offer) put in another free bid with lower star zones for $58 and won the above mentioned hotel. have received this hotel in the past for $45 a night but still happy either way..
  4. i was wondering if anyone knows how the priceline pricing works. For instance, say i want to perhaps win a higher end hotel (say, the shorebreak hotel in orange county) yet, i dont want to put in a higher bid and get a different hotel (say, the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach) that i could have won for a lower price. does priceline have price ranges for different types of hotels? i have won the hyatt regency in the past for $45 a night, and the shorebreak for $60 a night, yet, if i put in a $60 bid, would i risk overpaying for a less desirable hotel (hyatt)? does anyone have any ideas?? my inclination is the following hyatt regency- $40-$55 a night shorebreak- $60+ per night any input would be much apprecaited. thanks so much
  5. bid on priceline, won for $60 a night (right on the beach). didnt try too hard at bidding (probably could have saved a few bucks) but tried a few weeks ago and lost with a $70 bid. So I started and just put in $60 for the heck of it and got this beauty of a hotel. I'm happy...
  6. I plan on taking a trip from february 2- february 5th to california and want to stay in a hotel in the huntington/newport beach area. is it better to bid for a hotel (and possibly rental car) on priceline closer to the day i will be staying (ie a month or few weeks before) to get the best rate or is it just as good to bid ahead of time? also, does anyone have a link to a guide that's EASY to understand on how to get multiple bids in less than 24 hours on priceline (i watched some youtube videos and they were not descriptive enough, since i've only bid (and won) a hotel on priceline once). any advice is greatly appreciated!!!! :)
