Just booked another room for a friend and she didn't get the same deal as I. We were hoping we would both be at the Hilton, but these hotels are only 2 blocks away. She is happy with Parc 55, it's a pretty nice hotel. $70, rejected $75, add new zone, rejected $80, add new zone, rejected $83, add new zone, rejected $87, add new zone, ACCEPTED I used the PRICELINE link from this forum :)

I got accepted for 3* Civic Center for $230. Holiday Inn Golden Gateway. I'm happy with this result given the lack of rooms/insanely high rates for this night. I would have loved to move my dates, but I have show tickets for 10/24. BTW, I booked another room (via this forum's PRICELINE link) in San Francisco for 11/7-11/8. My result was much better: 4* Union Square West $70 Hilton San Francisco. As you can see here, if you're flexible with your dates, you can save a great deal and get a better room in a better area.

I know, this price is insane! But there are seriously limited rooms in SF for Oct 24th due to the ASO convention. I usually get a 4* USE or USW for $80 on a Saturday night. I tried for a couple of weeks to get a 4* room for much less until I learned about the convention. So, just so everyone knows, if your looking for a room in downtown SF on 10/24, it will be difficult. I had no luck at $230 price for 4*, so I moved down to 3.5*-still no luck. Then 3* and added Civic Center area and finally got accepted. I usually never select any area other than USE, USW, Fisherman's Warf, or Financial District. I'm not so thrilled about the Civic Center location, but at least I'm downtown. And a cable car station is right next to this hotel, so its easy transport to the touristy areas. It is still a better deal than any other posted rates for that night at that hotel.
