  1. I actually tried Lucky Cheng's last time I was there... that was definitely an interesting experience! Ono's sounds like fun - dinner on a bed... I guess they do have anything and everything in NY! I'll look into those Cafe's you mentioned too... hopefully our friends know of some hot spots too. Are there any events going on that weekend? I'm a little bit afraid of the cold, so I have to limit my time outdoors somewhat... what would you suggest to do during the days where I can get a decent balance of being both indoors and outdoors? Thanks in advance for the suggestions!
  2. I would explore either option... having a continuous stay (preferrable) or getting 2 different places. Thanks so much for your help
  3. I forgot to add that our first choice is midtown, then the surrounding areas... and no Jersey.... hope this is not impossible :)
  4. Do you have any suggestions on some good things to do in December? I'm going to be there from Dec. 17 - Dec. 19 This is my second time there, so I've already done a lot of the touristy things. I'd like to have more of a local NY flavour this time (Of course I'll have to do some touristy things like see Rockafellar centre, etc)... see nice but non touristy sights, catching a show, partying (club/lounge/bar), and hopefully throw in lots of shopping. Your help is appreciated. Thanks.
  5. HELP! My boyfriend and i just booked tickets to NYC on Dec. 17 (arriving 10am) to Dec. 19 under the assumption that we were staying over at a friend's place for the visit... BUT plans fell through and that option is out of the question now. :) This will be my second time in NYC, but my first time using a bidding site like PriceLine or HotWire. I know this is very last minute and I'm probably going to have a tough shot at getting anything at a decent price, but I really need some help in finding something ASAP -- I have no backups right now except to pay out of the roof for accomodations! Anyway... ideally, we would like to stay at a 4*+, but after a couple of searches online, the prices are a little steep... so we're considering dropping down to as low as a 2.5* although we would really prefer NOT to go there. Our budget per night is $250... anything less would be extremely desirable and anything too much more would make me rethink my visit -- or use up my next year's Christmas gift too! Please help... strategies, suggestions, price ranges, any info you can provide me with would be greatly appreciated. We're getting desparate here! :) Thank you in advance!
