  1. Yes, I'm still seeing the property at $231 per night Maldives (all) 1 Room, 2 Adults, 2 Children Thu, Oct 01 - Sun, Oct 04 Complimentary Free Internet Free breakfast Amenities Fitness center Spa services Reviews 95% recommended by Hotwire guests After further research, I'm thinking is this one: 1. Gangehi Island Resort, whose prices do not really seem to be the $971 hotwire claims to be the regular price.
  2. I'm doing the search from Oct 1 through Oct 4, 2015 (3 nights). The property I found at that price is in the North Ari Atoll area. According to the info Hotwire mentions of 4.5 rating on tripadvisor 500-1000 reviews, I'm thinking these are the options: 1. Gangehi Island Resort 2. W Retreat and Spa Maldives 3. VOI Mayafushi Resort I'm doing the search for 2 adults and 2 children. Turns out that W Retreat only accepts children ages 12 or older, so I'm wondering what would happen if I get that hotel assigned since my kids are both less than 8 years old. Thanks.
  3. Done. You guys don't let anything slip. :-) Any thoughts for the Hot.wire hotel in Maldives?

  5. Looking for a hotel in Maldives for 3 nights. Found the following in Hotwire (I used the link from this forum) for a 5 star hotel: 76%OFFNorth Ari Atoll area hotel 95% recommended by Hotwire guest 4.5 out of 5 $971* $231 per night Any ideas what could that hotel be? I see there is a Four Seasons in the area and was wondering if Hotwire works with the Four Seasons brand? I'm traveling with 2 kids, so I don't feel brave enough to use Priceline for this.
  6. Did bids at $45, $47, and $50 prior to the $52 winning one. I was getting counteroffers for $59. I also did bids for 2.5 stars for $38 and $44 and didn't win (nor got counteroffers).
  7. Thanks for the info. I tried to contact the Barcelo to see what would be the charge for the kids if I would just book two adults, but didn't get any reply back from them. At the end of the day I decided to just book directly with a different hotel. Thanks.
  8. Thanks for the info. I agree with the fact that it likely that I would have to pay extra for children. That makes my maximum bid go a lot lower. If my maximum bid is $110, what strategy would you suggest me to use? June 29 through July 2. I will also look into HOTWIRE as you suggested. Thank you.
  9. Looking to place a bid for a 4.5 star Deluxe-Plus hotel in San Jose del Cabo for the nights of June 29 - July 2. According to PRICELINE it is an all inclusive. I believe I could get the Barcelo, but not sure. Also, I wonder how likely it is I will be charged extra fees for being 2 adults and two small children (ages 2 and 4). Any advise? Yes, I have started my PRICELINE searches from your links and when I book I use them. I believe I've been a good citizen reporting back my results. Thanks.
  10. Did one bet at $40 just for that zone and didn't go through. Was given the option to bet $48 immediately after and I declined. Tried adding one more zone with no 3* or better hotel and offered $44 and got the Hyatt Place Northwest.
  11. At the end of the day I didn't use hotwire but priceline. I will try to leave a post in the priceline forum.
  12. I'm seeing a 3 start hotel for $60 with the following amenities. Is the best guess that is the Four Points Northwest? Sounds to be a very good match (and good price). 3-star Hotel in Six Flags This Hotel features the following amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Guest rooms at this hotel are always smoke-free. Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Pool(s) Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal. Restaurant(s) Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary. Business Center Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply. High-Speed Internet Access Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply. Golf Nearby Property is located within walking distance or a short drive of at least one golf course; an extra charge typically applies I also see for $68 a 2.5 star hotel, but no idea which one that would be. Thanks a bunch.
  13. Ended up using PRICELINE and bidding on a 4* hotel. Started at 45 and had to go all the way to 67. Got the Omni at Colonnade. Hope I won't regret not going for the Resort on HOTWIRE, which cost twice as much. Probably not.
  14. This morning I bid for a Resort on the SeaWorld area (San Antonio) for up to $70 starting at $45, since my first choice is to get a resort for cheap. Still deciding if my second choice is a resort for not that cheap or a 4* for hopefully cheap. Didn't get anything. Will keep reporting what I try next. Any ideas on what will be the priceline price for a resort in the Sea World area this time of the year?
  15. About $70. For $70 I would be okay at the Omni if that's what comes up. For $90, I would probably pay the extra and try to go for the Westin using Hotwire. Between $70 and $90 I'm not sure. The one thing I would be curious to know is if there will be an extra resort fee and whether that is per person if the Westin or another resort comes up. Does anyone know? Because of the zoning in San Antonio, I would think I can do multiple bids on 4* hotels on the same day using the multiple-zones where only the zone I care has the 4* hotels, right?
  16. Thanks for the info. Any suggestions on what strategy to use for bidding on PRICELINE for that zone?
  17. Excellent point. 25th and 26th of this month (September). Thanks.
  18. Hello, Any hints on how can I get the Westin La Cantera using PRICELINE? From all recent posts seems that it is going to be a lot more likely that I will get the Omni in that area rather than the Westin. Last time someone got the Westin using PRICELINE was in 2003. Thanks!
  19. Done. Any ideas why some replies I did on existing topics where I asked about resort fees do not seem to show up? Thanks.
  20. At the end of the day we made regular reservations on the Iberostar Cozumel. The reviews for the Presidente were not that good for coming with a toddler.
  21. Hello, Do you think the 4-star hotel that goes for $129 on Hotwire is the Westin La Cantera? Any other match? Any idea if a "resort fee" will be charged? (I guess I can ask in the forum where someone got this hotel as to whether that was the case or not for them). These are all its ammenities: 4-star hotel in Six Flags This hotel features the following amenities: Resort Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services
  22. Sure. Oct 18, 2009 through Oct 24. BTW, does anyone have an idea why I don't get email notifications when someone replies to? I've already set email notifications in all places I've found in this site (within the thread, on my user settings) and still don't get any emails and I already checked on my spam folder. Thanks.
  23. Any idea what would be a 4.5 star hotel in Cozumel with these ammenities: 4.5-star hotel in Cozumel Resort , Beachfront, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services, Children's Activity Program Thanks.
  24. Thanks for the advice about the infant's ticket. I contacted PRICELINE with regards to the maximum layover time, and they make no guarantees that it won't be >10 hours. Given that I'm not going to be using them to book my flight. I really wish there was a way to tell the system I want to bid X dollars for a flight with a max layover of Y hours. This is the reply I got from Priceline. "We apologize, but we are unable to guarantee the layover time when you use our Name Your Own Price option to make an airline reservation as it varies by region and by inventory." I just did a new search on PRICELINE for the itinerary I want and this is our first entry in the results. 26 hrs for a flight that can be 4 hrs long is just not acceptable to me. Austin, TX (AUS) → Cozumel, Mexico (CZM) 1 Stop Connects in Houston, TX (IAH) Departing
  25. I found that link last night from another discussion in this forum and the thing that worries me is that it states: *Data updated 7/1/2005 However, through the new way of finding that info that you just referred me to, I found a way to post a question to Priceline which I think I'm going to do. We are traveling with an infant and I really don't want to risk getting one of those flights. Any other advice is very welcome.
