Bid for a friend for this weekend, started with MTE since that's where the deals usually are for 4*s. Started pretty low, since I saw the calendar of wins had bids of $109. Got up to $125 with no luck. Started over and went for downtown, since that's where Priceline said had the best deal. Started at $115, was told that if I went to $140 I would get accepted. I rejected that offer since I know from prior experience that I could get a price in between. Got accepted at $125 at the Andaz. Seems like an amazing deal. My friend better appreciate it! Sorry, I usually click through the PRICELINE link here when I bid, but I forgot this time. I will remember next time!

I wanted a 4*, location wasn't all that important. Started w/ MTE since that's where the best deals seem to be. Bid $100, got rejected. Was told that if I raised my bid to $121 I could get a hotel now. I declined. Added one re-bid zone, bid $105, got accepted at the Grand Hyatt. With tax and fees the total was $133.07. Are fees and taxes of almost $70 normal for this hotel? I previous paid $29 for a bid of $109/night at the Grand Hyatt.

I was looking for a hotel in the Champs, Opera, or Latin Quarter. Using the bidding strategy from this site, I started at $100 and got $130 accepted at the Melia Alexander Boutique Hotel. The reviews are mixed, but seeing that the lowest rate I'd otherwise be able to book was $269 I got a great deal. I used the PRICELINE link from this site to bid. Thanks! Since I've had the luxury of plenty of time, I've been bidding for the past few weeks. I won't go into too much details about my bids, since I've made so many of them, but I pretty much started at $60 trying for a three or four star hotel in NMA or the Loop. My bid of $76 finally got accepted at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza. Not the greatest, but it's very convenient to where I have to be. I used Savings Barn. Thanks for the help.

I would have to say that price is more important than whether it's 3 or 4 star. I would like to stay as close to the Sears Tower as possible, as I need to be across the street from there very early the next morning. But if you think that getting a cheaper room is more realistic in NMA/River North, that's fine too. I guess that's what taxis are for.

I'm not sure if it's realistic, but I'd like to not go over $80.

Can anyone give me a bidding strategy for at least a 3* hotel in the MP-Loop-GP area? I know all the tricks but would like to know what would be a good starting bid. Thanks!

I just wanted a room for one night at a 4* hotel in USE or USW. I started bidding at $65, added a free zone with $67, and added another free zone and got accepted at $69 at the Hilton.

I got this hotel by starting my bid at $72. got rejected, added one free zone, and upped my bid to $74. very happy with the result, as i had planned on hotwiring what i thought would be the westin for $87.
