Is there some big event in Chicago 9/9 - 9/11? The Hotwire 4* hotel selection seems especially meager for those dates. Good to know. What's the food situation? The reviews all say the hotel breakfast is way too expensive -- is there a Starbucks right around there? As I said, it's a great price and it's only 1 night, so even if I get a room so small I have to go outside to change my mind it's not a huge deal. Thanks!

I've been struggling to find an inexpensive 4* downtown for these dates, and Hotwire wasn't working out, and neither was Priceline in the NWA-Water Tower-Gold Coast area. I just added the Millenium-Grant Park-Loop area and started bidding at $90, and scored with the Renaissance for $130. It looks like a nice place and a good location. I did book it through this site's PRICELINE link, and am grateful for all the advice and research available on this board!

This replaces my previous post. I didn't pull the trigger and now the price is gone. I'm nervous about how expensive the rooms are for that weekend, and may make my first foray into Priceline bidding. I'll post on that link to report and will go through your system to book. Thanks

I'd like to book a room in the Mag. Mile or even Water Tower area for Saturday/Sunday nights of Thanksgiving weekend, or possibly even just Sunday the 29th. The Hotwire rates still look very high, I thought they'd be lower for at least that Sunday night. Anyone think they'll come down?
