My bid of $150 was accepted for 4* MTE, MTW, TSQ, CPS for 03/19/10-03/21/10 and I have the option to extend it till 03/22/10. They gave me the Grand Hyatt on 42nd St & Park Ave. Reviews are so-so. Thanks guys. I used the PRICELINE link. :)

Update: I just tried 4* in CPS, MTE, MTW, TSQ up to $150 = FAIL. I'm thinking it might be that extra day on Sunday, but shouldn't that help me since Sundays are usually not busy? ..unless they don't have a lot of inventory for Sundays.

Oops, I meant 3.5*.

Should I wait a couple of days and maybe PRICELINE will get more inventory?

I started with 4* for all combinations of MTE, MTW, TSQ, and CPS up to $135 = ALL FAIL I then went down to 3* up to $135 = ALL FAIL I'm not sure if I want to keep increasing the bid amount. I see some 4* hotels offered at $207/night, yet PRICELINE won't accept a $135 bid?

I was only choosing 2.5* MTE only because I wanted Affinia 50, and a couple of people that chose 2.5* MTE got Affinia around the same time I'm looking to book so I thought my chances were high. Anyway, anywhere within the MTE, MTW, CPS, and TSQ zones is good. I'll probably start with 4* and go up to my max bid price of about $130. If no luck, go down to 3.5*.

I guess I don't really need the Affinia 50, but I need a highly rated hotel around the same area. I realize that there are 2 other hotels in NYC MTE 2.5* that I might get, but it seems that most people are getting the Affinia 50. I haven't seen anyone get anything else unless I missed them.

LATE FOLLOW-UP: We decided to just book the Palazzo again through a deal that they send out through their mailing list. I believe it was $169/night with break continental breakfast for two per day. I decided against using PRICELINE since I didn't want to be stuck with Trump.

Hello, I'm trying to get Affinia 50 for 03/19/10 - 03/22/10. I chose 2.5*, MTE. $65 (yesterday) = FAILED $80 (today) = FAILED I've read a couple of threads where people have gotten a room at Affinia 50 for around $65-70 during the weekends. What am I doing wrong? Any tips? Also, I had to wait 24 hours before I could place another bid. Anyone see a way around this? I didn't see any re-bid zones, and I can't really change the dates. Hello, I need to book a 5* room for (2) nights for my girlfriend and I. We're in our mid 20's. Checking in on Friday, 10/09/09 and checking out on 10/11/09. We've stayed at Palazzo, Venetian, and the Wynn already, but we have yet to try Encore, Trump, THEhotel, Signature @ MGM, and Hotel32. Our max around is $200, but of course, the cheaper, the better. I'm trying to get the best bang for the buck. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jeff
