  1. A property with this amenity and star rating has not yet been reported to the board. Of the three you mentioned, i think the Westin would be the most likely, but with so many resorts in this area having similar amenities, it would just as easily be some new property not yet reported to the board.

Since this an extended stay you could see if this same property is offered for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo nite in order to 'look behind the curtain'. If you're happy with the results purchase the remaining nites, if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay.

Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.

Ok I will discuss with the wife.

  2. What do you think this is?

Is this the Hilton, Sheraton or Westin?

The betterbidding list only has Dreams listed (with All inclusive option), and the Hilton (but that had hi speed internet).

Previous wins in this area had the Sheraton listed.

Just curious what you all think?

In any event here is the listing:

  4. I was looking at this thread earlier today and noticed that the icons included for this hotel (in this particular win) included "Near Beach -

Property is located within easy walking distance of a beach". I would definitely argue with the Westin that the Diplomat Country Club is not considered easy walking distance, rather a shuttle is offered to transport to the beach. But it looks like it turned out well and the argument is moot. Thanks for posting.

I have won Westin Diplomat a while back and it said "near beach". If you look at the sticky for 4* Hollywood Beach, it says near beach for Westin Diplomat.

I agree, if HOTWIRE was perfect, the Westin Diplomat should say "oceanfront" etc., but it doesn't.

  5. 4* Grand Cayman $333 Jan 23-30 2010

    Amenities:

    Resort

    Beachfront

    Oceanfront

    Smoke Free Rooms

    Fitness Center

    Pool(s)

    Restaurant(s)

    Business Center

    High-speed Internet Access

    Golf Nearby

    Spa Services

    Children's Activity Program

    Tripadvisor 4.5/5

    What could this be?

    Is this the Reef Resort?

    Is this the Ritz Carlton?

I am truly perplexed and fascinated.

I don't think I want the Reef because it isn't on Seven Mile Beach.

But this would be awesome if it were the Ritz!!

Or do you think it may be a hotel that is listed currently on Tripadvisor as 4/5, but it was at 4.5/5 in the recent past?

Thus it could be the Marriott or GC Beach Suites etc??

  6. 4* Grand Cayman hotel Jan 23-30 2 adults/2 kids

    Spa

    Kids activity program

    4.5 out of 5 tripadvisor

    Lowest price guaranteed.

My guess is GRAND CAYMAN BEACH SUITES but why so expensive? Is it because it's so far out still? Others have gotten much cheaper on this site!

Also, if this is the GRAND CAYMAN BEACH SUITES, has anyone stayed here on a HOTWIRE reservation (or otherwise). Did they give you a nice unit?

    thanks again

  7. This would possibly be the CP, as that's a 4/5 tripadvisor and apparently has been reported in the past w/o business. Are your dates 12/19-26, or are they in Feb, as mentioned in the other thread, or are these two different trips? I ask because if they're the same trip, the threads will be merged.

    2 different trips.

But one guy reported two Hotwire stays (one for $79 and one for "?$) both for the Westin, one where biz center came up and one where it didn't.
