Hotwire was offering a hotel which was clearly the Sheraton, for $67 for those same nights.
By the way it appears that you can bid on a 4* hotel in this airport region. Has the Crowne Plaza been upgraded? The Crowne Plaza is listed as a 4* hotel on Priceline's regular hotel searches.
Opening bid of $40 was rejected. I was offered the opportunity for a free re-bid only if I increased my bid by $12.
Armed with the information provided by this board, I declined that offer. I rebid for free by adding Midway Airport zone (knowing there were no 4* hotels in that zone) and upped the bid to $43, which was accepted for the Hyatt Regency on Wacker Drive.
Taxes and fees = $13.62
Thank you for your assistance.
