  1. I'm trying to identify a PRICELINE EXPRESS hotel in La Jolla for 8/16/14 with a rate of $99.

Amenities are: Indoor or outdoor pool, fitness center, business center

8.0 guest rating; guest favorite; save  45% or more

I only see a 3.5* in the hotel lists for PRICELINE EXPRESS so maybe there's no information available to help identify it?

    Thanks for any help

  2. Change of plans on our trip to Seattle so only ended up needing one night.  I bid $110 for 4* Seattle Downtown Pike Place...rejected. Added Lake Union which only has up to 3* hotels and bid $120..rejected. Added Space Needle zone which does have 4* properties and bid $125 which was accepted.

$125 bid was per room of course. Tax and fees per room is $23.79

    Very happy with the win!

After my bid was accepted I was given the option to add additional nights for the same price. I've never done that, but wonder if I could have added the additional dates I was originally trying to book?

    Thanks for the assistance!

  3. Thanks for the help, but ended up booking through a friend with a connection for Harrahs. Paid $140/night.

Hotel was dated and I wasn't impressed. Would have probably been happier with following through with hotwire at roughly the same price. Thought Harrahs would be nicer and liked the idea of knowing for certain which hotel I was booking since I hadn't been able to secure a great deal through PRICELINE or HOTWIRE.

  4. I've been bidding periodically over the last month on priceline for 2 rooms in the Seattle downtown 4* for a 6/25 check in and 6/28 checkout without success. Originally started bidding at $100 and with re bids went to $125. More recently I've started at $125 and have bid to $160.

Getting close to travel dates so I'd like to get something booked. Any suggestions?

Would consider a lesser star level if necessary. Thanks.

  6. Used the PRICELINE link to bid; Bid $75 4* San Diego Downtown; offer rejected but was advised I could make an immediate rebid at $95/night

I declined the $95 rebid and added Mission Valley and increased my bid to $80 which was accepted

Very happy with the result and was expecting a win to be with the Grand Hyatt after researching the recent wins on this board.

I've stayed at the Grand Hyatt before and it is a very nice hotel. I prefer it to the Sheraton Harbor island, which was my last win in SD and is out by the airport and less convenient to downtown.

  7. I'm ok with up to $90 for a 4* but wasn't sure which hotel i would be likely to get and wanted some input before i bid 4*

I did check hotwire and the strip hotels are $150 or so. There's a 5* central strip condo for $156,

condo, spa, studio, smoke free, fitness, pool, restautant, business. any idea what hotel/condo this is?

If I cant' get a room on the strip I would be very interested in the Hardrock if i could get it for $50-$60

Is the hardrock the only 4* in the near strip east area?

    Thanks

  8. Looking for 4-5* las vegas strip 2 rooms for one night for $90 or less

I made several bids for 5* north strip starting at $70 and increased to $90 without sucess. (added areas without 5* to re bid ) I did receive a counter offer of $145. which I did not accept.

Will bid on 4* strip tomorrow and would like some assistance with a bidding strategy and if possible an indication of hotels that are likely to accept my bid. Are the hotels in the hotel list a complete list of all the hotels that have been reported with winning bids on this forum? I understand that even if that's the case that new hotels could be added or removed at any time.

Would consider hardrock even though not on the strip, especially if I got it for under $50 which I see was an accepted bid. Is the hardrock the only 4* in the near strip east area?

    Thanks for any assistance

  9. 2nd time bidding for a hotel on priceline and 2nd time bidding through this board. Used the PRICELINE link through this site to start bidding.

Bid for 5 rooms for a golf trip I'm planning

    $60 bid 4* Downtown-Harbor Island- rejected

$65 bid 4* adding Point Loma-Shelter Island- rejected

$70 bid 4* adding Mission Valley- rejected

$73 bid 4* adding La Mesa- accepted

I only wanted to stay Downtown so I kept the star level at 4* and only added areas that DID NOT have a 4* hotel when I re-bid increasing my bid amount each time. (It makes me nervous to add areas that I don't want to stay in, but by only adding areas that DON'T have the star level I'm bidding on I guess my nervousness is unwarranted....right?) I think I followed a sound strategy but if my bidding strategy was flawed in any way even though it worked the way I wanted feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Based upon recent wins from this board, I figured I was close at $70 and only increased my last bid to $73. I never received a counter offer even with my $70 bid. Im very happy with the result! Thanks to the Admin.

  10. yes I bid and then re-bid adding a zone and then waited 24 hours to bid again after my bid and re-bid were rejected.

I also was referring to counter offers when I mentioned "feedback" and thank you for the link on that issue.

There was a reference to a 72 hour time period that I didn't understand. My understanding is that I can bid and if rejected must wait 24 hours to bid again unless I change a zone, star level, or date of travel allowing me to immediatley re-bid. What is the 72 hour limitaiton?

  11. Found this board researching how to use PRICELINE and HOTWIRE and was looking for feedback from people that had used them before. This board was very helpul!

Started 2 days ago and entered a bid for $60 4* San Diego Downtown-Harbor Island

    bid was rejected

added Coronada and bid $65 hoping for acceptance or feedback that a hotel would be available for an additional sum as some users had reported. Bid rejected without feedback

Bid again yesterday after waiting 24 hours; 4 * San Diego Downtown-Harbor Island bid $70 which was rejected

Added Coronada and bid $75. bid rejected again without feedback

Bid this morning 4* San Diego Downtown-Harbor Island $80 which was accepted.

Manchester Grand Hyatt $14.36 taxes and fees $80 room. Was hoping for either the Omni or the Manchester so I'm very happy with the result.

Don't know why I didn't get any feedback on the previous bids like other users had reported. Would be interested if anyone knew why or when you get feedback on a bid that's rejected.

Thanks to the Administrator and good luck to everyone using this board. :)

(I did use the PRICELINE link from this board to enter all of my bids)
