  1. Portland must be busy this weekend. I found offers on Hotwire for next weekend for 4 star hotels for 480, but this was a $160 purchase per night. Not what I was looking for, but it is nice to be able to walk around the downtown area, everything is pretty close. It should be noted that I went down to a 3.5* level but only selected areas that didn't have them. Started way down in the $50 price range over a few days, $160 was what it took.
  2. Ok, I started bidding at 4*, Whistler, $90. Failed! 4*, Added Squamish (no 4 star hotels!) upped bid to $99, failed. Added 3.5* (also none in Squamish) lowered bid to $70. Failed. Waited the 24 hour period, bid 4*, Whistler, $109, failed. Added Squamish, upped bid to $120. Failed. Added 3.5*, lowered bid to $90. Failed! At that point I thought it was pointless to continue, as Hotels.com listed 3.5* hotels very close to what I was already bidding, so I just picked my hotel on their site for $97 a night.
  3. You should change the title to say $170 then not $48... stay was great!
  4. No, I won it through PRICELINE but I definitely went way over budget, in order to stay downtown. Just one of those times I guess.
  5. There is also a motocross event, and a NASCAR event as well. In any event, even going to my favorite hotels and checking their own site, quite a few had nothign available, at least for the Saturday. I ended up biting the bullet and way over paying, $175 a night at The Nines in DT.
  6. No dice, just tried the Saturday night, 07-23-11 up to $87 and still rejected. Also tried the same areas, and the same days, but included *2.5 this time, bid up to $55 and no luck. Whats going on in Portland this weekend??
  7. Same nights, same stars, same locations, this time bid up to $67, no dice. Now trying individual nights instead at higher rates.
  8. Going to try again. Started out 4 star, worked my way down to 3 star eventually, even included North West and South Waterfront areas, a little surprised they all failed. Will be bidding again in a bit at higher rates, we'll see what happens. Guess what links I used to start my bidding?
  9. The hotel was pretty awesome, for $61 a night definitely a steal!
  10. Bid Seattle Downtown 4* $59, rejected. Added Seattle Center and 3.5* $60 rejected. Added 3* $61 was accepted. Happy as its 2 blocks from the EMP which is what I was going to see, amongst other things. Looks clean and new, and Expedia lists it at $144 for the same night.
  11. Just adding that, in case you missed it, for your future purchases. :)
  12. Amazing deal! Congrats, I stayed there last year, top notch!
  13. Started bidding at $45, 4* Downtown, rejected Added NW Portland, rejected. Added 3.5*, added South Waterfront, rejected. Bidding $47, added Convention Center, rejected. Added 3*, bid $51, rejected. Bid$59, added 2.5* (no 2.5* in areas!) and accepted at Crowne Plaza Convention Center. Shall review upon return, and used the infamous PRICELINE link.
  14. Bid $48 in Eugene, accepted right away by Valley River Inn. Will be interesting to see, haven't been to Eugene before, but its listed as #14 out of 30 hotels there on Trip Advisor. Shal post pics when I'm back! I even used your infamous PRICELINE link to get it.
  15. Please help ID 4* Waikiki Beach area hotel Amenities listed are: Resort, Beachfront, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access, Children's Activity Program. Very curious, would like to book if my hunch is right!
  16. Stayed here for a week, Oct 22nd to Oct 30th. The hotel was nice. However, we got what I would call a Priceline view. The $18 a day for parking is a killer: Tip: The parking garage next door is $11 per day, save yrself some moolah... Odds and ends: The girl at the Bistro got 5 out of 7 peoples order wrong that were ahead of me in line, and then she got my order wrong. Its like you would order and she would just grab what She wanted to grab out of the pastry cabinet lol! For $51 a day, I'd stay again.
  17. My friends went to the Marriott Waikiki Beach Resort earlier this year, and I noticed that it is one of the hotels/resorts fro Priceline. So, I'd like to bid on it, but we would like the two families to go together and share a suite (2 bedroom, one queen sofa sleeper in living room). Is there a way to do that on PRICELINE?
  18. Bid $40 for 4* in LAX area but was rejected. Added Hollywood - rejected. Added Beverly Hills - rejected. Added 3.5* - rejected. Added Westwood, upped bid to $42 - rejected. Added Santa Monica, upped bid to $46 - rejected. Added Downtown, upped bid to $51 - accepted. Hilton Los Angeles Airport 3.5 Star 5711 West Century Blvd Los Angeles, California 90045 310-410-4000 Check-In Date: Thu Oct 22 after 3pm Check-Out Date: Fri Oct 30 12pm Subtotal: $408.00 Taxes & Fees: $70.72 Total Charges: $478.72 Had my heart set on staying in WeHo or Hollywood this trip, but after days of bidding higher prices than this (up to $62) and including 2* hotels and not getting a successfull bid, I had to resort to the aiport area... Yes, I used yorr PRICELINE link.
