  1. Ok just to tell the board I have rebid several times after waiting the 24 hours and have follwed the free rebid stratergy on a 4* for Downtown Vancouver. All bids have so far been rejected. My last bid was $115. Any idea why this is?? Do you think I am too far in advance
  2. We are going to try again this afternoon as I noticed somebody got a great rate of $66 4* Downtown Vancouver for 2 weeks before our dates. Lets keep our fingers crossed!!
  3. Yes I too was wondering about this as I have been bidding the last 2 days and each time it says try again in 24 hours, which I have done. Thats such an impreovement than having to wait 72 hours!
  4. Hi Tried the stratergy exactly as you said but got rejected as below: 4* Vancouver bid $66 - rejected added rebid zone Bid $71 rejected added rebid zone 2 Bid $76 - rejected, closed browser and re-accessed PL Selected 4* Vancouver and zone 3 bid $80 - rejected Bid $85 and added Zone 1 rejected Bid $90 added zone 2 - rejected...... Any suggestions or statergy? Do you think its too early for any deals?
  5. What I did not understand is that you say use Zone 1 but there is no 'zones' displayed. If you look at the order of the areas then Burnaby is the first on the list and that has 4* hotels in that area. So I think I was confused in what zones relate to what areas. I saw that Delta, Langley and Surrey are the only areas that do not have 4* available. So what area does Zone 1 relate to and maybe this is where I went wrong?????I will try the stratergy in 72 hours as I assume I have to wait that long to rebid.
  6. Maybe I messed up here!! This is what I did. I saw that 3 zones do not have 4*. Bid $62 Vancouver---rejected Bid $66 and added Surrey (only up to 2 *shown)---rejected Bid $75 and added Delta---rejected Bid $79 and added Langley --rejected Gave up as had no counter offers! Do you think its too early to get these prices. I noticed that someone had a bid accepted of $66 for a 4* Vancouver for beginning of July so did think we would be able to get the room for under $80......I now have to wait 72 hours but that is fine as we are in advance. Hotwire 4* was showing up at $150 per night. Far too much
  7. Yes we are set on dates as the cruise leaves vancouver on 8/21 so we though we would get up there on the 17th and spend the thursday through monday morning in vancouver........any bidding stratergy etc that you can offer will be appreciated.
  8. Well of course I would like to get as cheap as possible but what do you think of $90 maximum a night. We shall be there either 3 or 4 nights. Have decided to arrive on 8/17 Thursday and then we depart on 8/21 for a cruiseship. Any suggestions.......??
  9. Hi I would like 3 * and above. Any help would be great and maybe some clue on how much to start the bid at etc.
  10. Hi Need some assistance and help in using Priceline to get a decent hotel In downtown Vancouver. Will be flying into Vancouver and then spending 3 days there before picking up a cruise. Any recent bids and information would be of great value. have not done any bidding yet but would like a good location in Downtown.
  11. Called them and we can add a rollaway for 10 GBP per night if we wish to. Will report back on how our stay was after returning from our trip. Thanks for all your help in getting this. We feel it is a great price for London.
  12. Hi Just wanted to post what we got. Thanks for the stratergy. Placed a bid for 4* Kensington at $60 and got rejected. Said bid $17 more. We increased bid to $68 and added Mayfair/Soho 4* and 5*. Got bid accepted for Copthorne Tara. Was hoping for Holiday Inn Kensington Forum as we need a room with 2 doubles which was shown available on Holiday Inn website but not showing at Copthorne Tara. Hope this works out!! :)
  13. Yes I would like a stratergy on a 4 or 5* either Kensington or Mayfair area would be good. Thanks!
  14. I am thinking that we would still like to go ahead and try some sort of bidding stratergy on Priceline. I looked at Hotwire and a 3 1/2* in Kensington is coming up at $170 per night. Maybe when priceline offered $76 for a 4 * I should have took that. But I do want to try again and get something or at least can you advise me what likely hotels would come up in the 4* and even the 5* range for Kensington area. Thanks for all your help. Our dates are solid at 8/29 to 8/31.......
  15. My daughter is 10 and I was hoping that I could get one room with 2 doubles in. Yes I would like some sort of stratergy for London and also any suggestions on what hotels the 4* might be when bidding on Kensington area which encompases Earls Court and Knightsbridge on their map. Thanks for any help. We looked on Kayak.com and can get Avonmore which says it a 4* for a triple room with breakfast for 160 GBP but I was hoping for something cheaper than that.
  16. I am looking to bid on a 4 star in Kensington area for the end of August for just 2 nights. I put in a bid of $50 which was rejected and it came back that if I increased it to $76 I would get it~! Any idea though which hotel you think it would be. I need some bidding information. My dates are 8/29 for 2 nights. Also it would be for 2 adults and 1 child......Having not stayed in London for a long time I think we are definately better bidding on a 4 star and not below. Any ideas anyone??? Thanks!! :)
  17. I looked at some of the other posts and saw that somebody got the Venetian at $130 in November. That I definately would go for. I did offer $100 which got rejected. Do you think it is worth trying a small increase and see if I could get that. I only bid on a 5* for $100.......??
  18. We have been to Vegas many times and this time we are really just going for a wedding and really no gambling time! I would like to stay on the strip at a nice hotel but for a reasonable price (can they be had anymore??). I know that Fairfield Grand Resort (says 4* and has been offered at $100 per night) is off the strip----do you think $100 per night can be beaten on Priceline for a comparitve 4* hotel? We will be driving there so although it would be wonderful to be on the strip we do have transport. Looking at some of the star ratings with Tropicana being a 3* I would like to be 4* minimum!!! Am I too early to get a deal on Priceline and Hotwire??
  19. Yes I would like a stratergy on Priceline please. I did try $100 for 5* (clutching at straws!!) but of course it got rejected. Do you think it would be better to wait till closer to the date or does it not really matter?? We have been offered a time share option at The Fairfield Grand Desert for $100 per night and wonder whether we should just go for that, or whether something nicer might come along on Priceline?? What do you think?
  20. I am hoping that I could stay on the strip area for about $100 - $125 per night. I would of course like to get something nice. Having stayed in the Garden Rooms at the Tropicana (some deal a friend got for $45 per night) I am not thrilled about paying $125 per night for that hotel! I was thinking of trying Priceline or Hotwire but need some help in what to bid and what hotels to expect.
  21. I am trying to get a good rate for this weekend. We are attending a wedding and this is a Friday Saturday night stay. I have looked at some of the consolidator web sites and even The Tropicana is coming up at $130 a night. We have stayed here (for $45) and would not like to pay that kind of money. I would like a deal on a 4 or 5 star. What do you think realistically I should bid on Priceline or get on Hotwire for this weekend? Help!
