Used the PRICELINE link to start my purchase. Have been bidding for a few days, starting at $50 and only for 3*. The $81 bid for 7/23 was accepted yesterday on 3rd or 4th rebid (~60->70-> $80?). Offered automatic extension at the same price, which I used for 7/22. I did see a HOTWIRE forum thread for $61 win at La Quinta for the same dates, but decided to stick with PRICELINE. :) Totals: $81+$20.91(tax)=$101.91 per night. Priceline flashed "savings of 29%". Checked hotel website - current cheapest rooms are $130-135 + tax. Pretty happy with the outcome.

$60 + $8.45 taxes + $8.38 Fees = $76.83/night The hotel is apparently formerly known as Marx Hotel, then Renaissance Hotel. It has a complimentary garage parking. The Priceline lists rooms for $141+tax= $160/night for the same dates. Bad strategy - didn't research the hotel, so didn't expect to have the first bid accepted, therefore I did not use the PRICELINE link. Sorry :)

Sorry, missed a piece in my original post. Hotel room booked for 4/30/2010 for 1 night. $40 +Tax = $53

Started search from BetterBidding PRICELINE link. Got the room from the first bid $40. First time entered a wrong check-in date. Called PRICELINE customer service and they offered a cancellation with an option to get a refund less $25 change fee if I book a new room on their website on a different date. Cancelled my reservation, made a new booking, called them back and got a refund. Not everything I paid but better than nothing.

bidded for a 4 star hotel 3/13/10 for one night I started my bid at $80 Central Park South. rebidded a few times to $120 Then added 3.5* and $120 was rejected Opened a new window for MTW at $90 and I was offered a free rebid if I increase the bid by $22 It was accepted: Sheraton NY Hotel and Towers for $112 + $30 fees and taxes. Total $142 :) Used Better Bidding PRICELINE link to start the purchase.
