I started out on 3/8 with a bid of $50 for a 4-Star i the Downtown area. It was rejected.
On 3/9 (though not 24 hrs later) I added an area of San Diego with no 4-stars (Point Loma-Shelter Island-Old Town) to my Downtown-Harbor Island search and raised the bid to $56. It was rejected - however with the rejection it told me that if I was willing to raise my bid by $17 I would be able to search again immediately. I've never had this offered to me before so I figured I would give it a shot. The bid for $73 was accepted!
This was all linked through the PRICELINE link on this website, of course :)
One thing that I noticed was that the $5 trip insurance was added to my bill and I don't recall selecting it. I noticed the offer the first time I bid on 3/8 but not on 3/9. It's not a huge deal but I probably wouldn't have spend the $5 on it. So that, the room taxes and such brings my total for $95.28. I can live with that :)
I booked this hotel yesterday, Thursday, September 17th around 3pm.
My first bid was for $50 and it was immediately accepted (which always makes me think I should have tried lower)
They booked us at the Hyatt Regency and the total with taxes and fees was $63.92
Other information....
When I logged into the Hyatt site it showed that they had us booked into a King room, which normally is my preference but there is a chance we will have our kids with us so two beds would work better. I realize that they only garuntee double occupancy through PRICELINE but I thought I would check with the hotel.
When I called the hotel, they identified that I had booked through Priceline (not in a negative way, just stated it) and when I put in the request for two beds she said she would make a note of it and to ask when I checked in. She also put in for a roll-away bed just in case they weren't able to make the switch (very helpful and nice). Nothing was said about an additional fee so I guess we'll see what happens when we check in this afternoon!

First bid was accepted. I've stayed here before so I'm really happy with this great deal!
Linked to PRICELINE through this site as usual (even when I forget to post my winnings)
Cheers!
