  1. Yes, I had narrowed to either that or the Renaissance as I did more research, so thank you very much. I'll let you know if I decide to proceed and get it.
  2. Also, I should add that I did use the HOTWIRE Quickquote to begin my search yesterday and used the same link this morning. I have also shared the BetterBidding site with many of my colleagues. Thanks again. :)
  3. Yes, sorry, I didn't know if you wanted all the handicap amenities or not? The total list reads: Indoor Pool Fitness Center Restaurant Pool Business Area High Speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby Accessible for the Blind Accessible for the Deaf Accessible Path of Travel In-room Accessbility Accessible Bathroom Handicap Parking Roll-in Shower
  4. I am trying to identify a 4* listed for $69 in Dallas in the Love Field/Market Center area for the dates of 2/16/13-2/20/13. It shows amenities of: Indoor Pool Fitness Center Restaurant Business Area ..... and shows a 90% recommended rating. Location matters to me, but LOVE Betterbidding as usual if I can be reasonably sure I have it figured out, since I'd like to be near the light rail for getting to DFW and to downtown Dallas for a convention. Either that or getting lucky on a Priceline bid for a 4* + in downtown. Thanks again for the help. :)
  5. After shooting for a 4* near Pasadena for a few weeks, we decided to hit one on the way back to AZ. We got the San Bernadino Hilton, a 3.5* for $45. I think I recall there quoted rate around $114, so a decent discount. Personally, anytime you get a nice hotel under $50, it should be considered a win.
  6. Property finally reposted and got it for $58 - it was the Doubletree Hilton as suggested. Had wished for an included breakfast, but had a feeling it was a full restaurant. No problem as a great rate.
  7. Your help is appreciated in trying to identify a 3.5* in the Orlando area under the heading "Sea World - I-Drive South area hotel". The included amenities are as follows: Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services This is showing a rate of approx. $58 for this stay versus a 3* that shows $50 but has a mention of "resort" in is features leading me to fear the dreaded resort fee add-on. I need to decide fairly quickly, so your help is appreciated. I am considering whether to take this 3.5* and whether the restaurant is an indication of a likely included breakfast versus trying Priceline for a nicer hotel and bidding in this range to see what I'd get? Proximity to the convention center is a key. Thanks for all the great work you guys do! :) ........... and Go Blue! (Yes, I'll be in Texas)
  8. For a 3* with breakfast included, this seemed reasonable compared to bids I was making on Priceline that weren't winning ..... at least until we found out this was the Holiday Inn Express which is "specifically" listed on their 2 1/2* page in the offerings for $77. So, at $92, we suddenly felt like we had been misled by Hotwire. When I called Hotwire, they just said this particular HI Express was rated 3*. Maybe true, but when this is the ONLY Holiday Inn Express in Pasadena and it is specifically mentioned on the page offering 2 1/2* for $77, it seems a rip off to be charged $92 for the same hotel. They said there was nothing they could do until I went to the hotel and then I could call and complain. Wasn't too sure the hotel would be happy with them saying that?
  9. Well, we struck out. I have to say that historically, with the help of BetterBidding, I have learned how to do this successfully, But sometimes I guess it just doesn't work and this is one of them. I tried the above and no winning bids. We even tried other areas close like Glendale and Burbank 4*, still nothing. So, finally we gave up and took a 3* HOTWIRE that was $92 (yes, I'll go post over there too). Still bidding on our 2nd night and hope to have better luck by Beverly Hills.
  10. Yes, the Langham is fine, but no way for $187. If that were the $103, then yes, but I suspect it is the Westin? The amenities are: Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, and High-Speed Internet Access ......... however, it now shows only if I book both nights. Ideally, I think we have decided finding a 4-5* near Pasadena is the goal for Sat. 5th and then willing to move for Sun. 6th toward Beverly Hills/Santa Monica/Marina area, again prefer 5*, but open to 4. Budget is still prefering less than $110.
  11. Yes, I am open to any 5*, but don't see any 4* in the Pasadena area, though quite a few when you search Beverly Hills/Westwood/LA, etc. Not sure I'd want just any 4*, so yes, Hotwire is fine, especially if you see one you'd recommend. Thanks :) Again, we are open to both Sat.-5th and Sun.-6th or moving to two different if necessary, though closer to Pasadena the first night would be best and closer to ocean 2nd. I think easier to just get one hotel at a great rate. Also, just looked at Hotwire on Betterbidding and it shows a Pasadena 4* for $103 (which hotel?) and a Pasadena 5* (clearly the Langham). I am curious as I don't see a 4* on Priceline in this area, so Hotwire must be upgrading one of their 3 1/2* hotels. I will look at Bevely Hills/Santa Monica/Marina next.
  12. This is an anniversary trip and seeking a really nice place for a couple nights in LA. The goal is somewhere in between Pasadena and Santa Monica, including Westwood, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, etc. Can stay a couple nights or one from November 5th to the 7th. I have bid before successfully on here and now seeking a strategy when not targeting the area so tightly, but rather seeking to stay higher end? I think if I do this right, I can get something for $100-140/nt. Any helpful hints?
  13. Unfortunately, this ended with a little sour taste..........we got a hotel room but was for MORE that the hotel was showing on their website. In the end, we tried 5* up to $130 and didn't get anything in spite of about 20 bids over the last few days. Then went back to the 4* and did 100, nothing, 105, nothing, and 110 nothing. Then, decided since we were down to being one day away from last chance and wife wanted this decided before we left (remember, we have our first night at Ravella already) we went $120 on the 4* and got the Golden Nugget. Unfortunately, their posted rate at the time was $109................ so why didn't they accept our earlier offers? Yes, I called Priceline and they are refunding the difference, but still leaves a sour taste. However, BetterBidding is awesome. Thanks for the help.
  14. Want to close out the string with the results - success! As I shared, she wanted to start lower, but ironically, she caved in to their counteroffer. Anyway, did resorts in Indian Wells/La Quinta for $88 anticipating going up to $100. We got a counteroffer at $113. My instincts were to bid the $100 again, but given it was only a day away, to get a resort for $113 seemed like a great deal so we took it. Turned out to be the Hyatt Grand Champions, which is a phenomenal place. Their front desk forgot to mention the resort fee and it wasn't on their printout from Priceline, but all told, a $300+ value for $113 made my wife very happy. Thanks for the help and advice.
  15. Yes, as we said above, both north or south are acceptable and probably max out at 125.
  16. So far, coming up empty on the 4* so I would be happy to hear your strategy on the 5* now for either north or south strip. Thanks.
  17. Thanks, I'll try that........and yes, I know about the tournament which is why we are going. I'll report back.
  18. Wife decided since we'd waiting this long, what was another day, so she wanted me to be more agressive this first day. It didn't work. I started at $52 for desired downtown location 4* and increased in each of the four no-bid zones to $56, 60, 64, and 68 respectively. So, I'll try again tomorrow night with a little higher amount and update this post.
  19. I had already clicked that, but I just did it again and yes, it has your referral ID showing in the browser after I do. Your strategy assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.
  20. First preference is 4* downtown hoping that is Golden Nugget. Next preference is 5* reasonably priced anywhere on the strip. Yes, I am okay with one bed, but thanks for asking. The kids have the option of staying with friends in Lake Las Vegas a 2nd night.
  21. Thank you for the questions (and here I thought I was being complete, haha). I am willing to accept other zones, but the preference and the premium would be the Indian Wells zone. Yes, I'd pay an extra 10-20 for that zone. I know they have some very nice hotels near there too. Naturally, least expensive is nice, but my actual goal is the perfect combination of "nicest hotel for the best price". Thanks again........ and Go Blue! :)
