  1. Just tried the discount code for a 4* near the Auckland airport (AKL) and the code BETTERBFEB15 pasted from the site is not working? Does this not apply to international? I would swear I've used these on others in the past through this site as I'm a long time user. Thanks for checking - maybe a typo in what you posted? or ??? Andrew
  2. It took a 2nd bid in a PRICELINE zone that didn't have a 3 1/2 *, but was able to succeed in getting the Luxor for $33 which is less than they had been offering previously on PRICELINE EXPRESS, plus, they no longer showed any rooms, so I was quite happy. Love the new look of the site and the extra help on those two key tabs in BiddingHelper.com. Keep up the great work. :)
  3. It shows: Free Internet Airport Shuttle Restaurant Fitness Center Business Center Internet Access Golf nearby Accessibility shows a lot: Visually impaired Hearing impaired Path of Travel In-room Wheelchair Bathroom Parking Roll-in Shower (I believe only fir Visually and Hearing showed during the original viewing) Hope this helps everyone. :)
  4. Have used BetterBidding over the years and learning how to do it better each time. Saw 3 hotels for our desired night near Chicago's airport, with two key candidates. Knew the 4.5 star was most likely the Loews, so that narrowed it to one hotel. It had been running around $91, but last night saw it at $78 and did some quick final research to determine if it was the Hilton or Hyatt (the one we wanted due to piggybacking with another stay). It turned out correct and we got the Hyatt Regency as desired for $78 for that evening. It truly does help to learning what BetterBidding has taught over the years - love saving money. :)
  5. I noticed you combined this, but just to be clear, this search was 2 1/2 weeks later. Due to the holiday the earlier dates, the rates are much different. Just didn't want someone seeing the dates and thinking they'd get this rate.
  6. Noticed a 5* showing in Hot.wire today, so I jumped over on Price.line and gave it a shot, working my way up until I got the Hilton Amsterdam for $103 plus taxes/fees. Very pleased.
  7. The College Hotel and their complaints about lighting concerned the wife. Then, today Hotwire showed a 5* in the Apollan-RAI-Amstel area adjacent for only $108, so I took a shot on Priceline and got the Hilton for $103, which I'll post on the Priceline thread. Thanks and we have all our hotels - turned out to be all 5* and great rates, so very pleased and so appreciate your help.
  8. Okay, since we are done with our other nights, this just leaves the night we come back to Amsterdam and head to the airport. I really like this rate and location and curious if you could help since there are so many 4* in this area. Date - 5/17 to 5/18 - 4* Museum Quarter - $93 on Hotwire FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Restaurant(s), Internet access, In-room accessibility Thanks and I believe this is what we'll select depending on the guesses, so I'll report back so we know.
  9. Wanted to close this thread with the update that as we searched with Bidding.Helper and the Price.line/HOTWIRE links, we ended up with an anomaly and jumped on it. I had been bidding for 5* and had even gone up to $200, but everything was priced at $280++ the last few days for our dates. Out of the blue, the 5* Hilton was listed at $195/nt so we jumped on it. This is one of the busiest weekends of the year in Amsterdam and it appears rooms are almost impossible to find and I notice the prices getting ridiculous (upwards of $350-500/nt), so we feel fortunate. I was even almost ready to just take an inferior hotel and almost the same identical rate. I could have tried some more bids, but very happy at this price and know exactly what I was getting. Thanks again for the help.
  10. Due to the delay in identifying the airport, the wife has now decided that we'll trek into the city (even though we arrive late) so now wants a 4* or 5* in either Museum Quarter - Vondel Park area or the Apollan-RAI-Amstel area. To that end, using the BiddingHelper EasyView tab I see the following that I would narrow to for the dates of 4/30 - 5/2: 4* Museum Quarter - Vondel Park - $177 85% recommended FULL AMENITIES: Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower ?? My guess is either Park or NH Museum Qtr?? 4* Apollan-RAI-Amstel - $187 90% recommended FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Spa services ?? My guess was Bilderberg?? 5* Apollan-RAI-Amstel - $227 95% recommended FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower ?? My guess was either Hilton or Okura?? Just noticing that Bilderberg is showing as 5* on Priceline now, so maybe Hotwire is similar for this zone? Thanks for your help and I will post once we decide and have a room.
  11. Thank you. I did not know about the alternative way to get the full amenities beyond the EasyView tab. I will try that to confirm and thanks. I'll let you know what I decide.
  12. Using Bidding.Helper, all I am doing is typing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, one room, 2 people from 4/30/15 to 5/2/15, then reordering the results on price and it is right there on the Hotwire tab as the 9th one down. When I click the Easyview it doesn't show, but then several others disappear as well. I believe it is the one I want but would like to guess its identity so to choose between it and the other for $30 less. Thanks for trying and appreciate any help. I took a screen shot if there is a way of inserting? Again the amenities in addition to being 100% recommended - top rated are: Complimentary Free Internet Amenities Pet friendly Airport shuttle Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Spa services 4* AMS airport - shuttle service area
  13. Just noticed it is showing on the Hotwire tab at $118, but not the EasyView tab? Why would that not show on the other tab? Anyway, best guess so I can make a decision? Thanks.
  14. Yes, maybe just try a couple different times. It is showing on there to me right now.
  15. Your help in identifying those two hotels would be appreciated. Then I'll finish the order and report back so to confirm what I actually got, thanks. :)
  16. did it about 4-5 different ways and finally got the $117 - 4* at airport with the following amenties: FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Airport shuttle, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Internet access
  17. I have used the BiddingHelper but hadn't clicked the green button on the 2nd tab Easyview. So here are the results: 4* - $88 - Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) - Shuttle Service FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Airport shuttle, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Internet access However, the Easyview tab is not showng the $90 or the $117 (4*) that I am also looking at? So I can't give you extra amenities. Maybe try that yourself? Thanks.
  18. Thank you and that confirms my fears it is not the Okura. Given we are staying there the next night, i only wanted to try this if it was obvious the Okura was it. The part that still seems odd to me that the Okura is the only one in this area with 95% approval ratings, yet, unless they have added pets being okay, can't be them. Thanks again.
  19. Thanks but depending on which hotel these are, I may be willing to lock in the 2 days rather than 1, especially since you confirmed my fear that the other one in Apollaan-RAI-Amstel may not be the Okura. Also, I am seeing these same hotels come up when I do a single night search a few weeks later on the back end of our cruise. Then I am deliberately tryingtost stay at the airport as we have a morning flight. Your help is appreciated identifying these two hotels. Thanks. :)
  20. Trying to identify this 5* hotel and whether it is the Hotel Okura or perhaps the Marriott or something else? What is throwing me is the Pet Friendly, yet the 95% seems to indicate the Okura. Listed amenities are: Complimentary Free Internet Amenities Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Accessibility Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Thanks again for all you do - Your help is appreciated. :)
  21. Trying to stay at the Amsterdam Schipol airport (AMS) - Shuttle Service area for April 30th for 1 or 2 nights (depending on whether I can get the Okura on May 1st - already booked there on the 2nd). Anyway, I am seeing a 4* for $117 on Hotwire showing 100% recommended and the following amenities: Complimentary Free Internet Amenities Pet friendly Airport shuttle Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Spa services I am also seeing a 4* for $88 that states "still gathering reviews" - any ideas? Complimentary Free parking Free Internet Amenities Indoor pool(s) Airport shuttle Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) My ideal is the Hilton onsite at the airport. Thanks for helping.
  22. Wasn't sure if I should post here as well? Winning bid of $69/night from 2/16-2/20 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, a 4* hotel.
  23. After much deliberation relating to my transportation issues, I ultimately decided to go forward with my bid and it was indeed the Hilton Anatole for $69/night from 2/16-2/20. Thanks again. :)
