  1. Booked on PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals. Amenities Listed were: Free Internet (in Room) Non-Smoking Gym Restaurant Handicap Accessible Business Center
  2. Amenities Listed were: Fitness Centre, Free Internet, Non Smoking, Restaurant, Business Center.
  3. Used the Betterbidding links and headed to HOTWIRE to book for my June Stay in NYC. Found this for $137/night and based on the amenity list, it matched the Doubletree Metropolitan. Amenities listed were: Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower Happy with my deal (even though this property gets so-so reviews on Tripadvisor) as it's the cheapest I could find in NYC for the weekend I needed.
  4. Had already made a reservation for this same property with Expedia for $135/night cause I wasn't having success. But this is the property I wanted. Used this site's PRICELINE link and Started at $100 and got accepted right away.
  5. The amenities were as listed in the Hotwire Hotel list on this board: Amenities: Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Tennis Although, it did not say "Customer Favorite" as the hotel list indicates (that's why I originally thought it was going to be the Hyatt and not the Barclay).
  6. After reading on here - saw this on Hotwire - figured it was the Grand Hyatt or the Barclay. Got the Barclay. $158 from Aug 12-14 (Friday and Saturday night). Feel like this is a good deal for a 4* in August in NYC regardless! Used the HOTWIRE link obviously to book :)
  7. Tried at $38. Rejected but asked to rebid at $52. Added rebid Zone (South Buffalo) and upped to $40. Rejected. Added rebid zone of East Niagra Falls and upped to $42. Accepted. Of course I used the sites PRICELINE links to start with. I'm happy. Mixed reviews on trip advisor, but I've stayed here before and it's just a crash pad before a flight out the next AM.
  8. Taking Mom to Baltimore to see the Orioles in May. Used this site's PRICELINE links, and started at $85. Went to $99 with no success - (Inner Harbour is the only zone with 4* so there were lots of rebid-zones). Took it up to $103 since I had bid up to $100 before and no success and PRESTO! Seems decent - this hotel is going for $249 pretty much everywhere else. (There's a $147 on Hotwire, but I dunno what hotel that is...).
  9. UPDATE: Got the New Yorker! Tried Priceline (via this site's links) last night at $80 and got the offer to up my bid by $20 and bid again (so I knew I was close!). Tried to Add Coney Island as a re-bid zone and bid at $85, no dice. Waited until today, and bid at $90. Got the offer to up my bid again - this time to $115 (So I knew again that I was getting close...). Added Coney Island as a re-Bid zone and bid at $95 and I was accepted. Feb 18-21/2011 - Ramada New Yorker - $95/night + taxes ends up around $118/night. Happy to have the free Wifi at the New Yorker, the awesome building and the food delivery by the Skylight Diner. :)
  10. Great Price on a Great Property. Stayed at the Marcel in October and it was great. Small-ish, but great deck (and view of ESB!). Staff were courteous as well.
  11. Congrats on your win! I've stayed at the Marcel before, and I really liked it! Great location and really helpful/friendly staff. One thing: There's no ice machines on the floors, but there's one behind the front desk. They'll gladly send up ice for you (something we learned while staying there).
  12. Thanks for your help. I've tried bidding up to $120 and still got nothing. :S Ideas? Should I wait till closer to the trip dates?
  13. Yeah, I'm thinking that I may try to go up more $$ ($120 you're saying?) for a 4*. I've already tried up to $105 for a 3.5* trying for the New Yorker without success. I'm going to try for a 4* at 110 and go from there, I think?
  14. To be honest, the more stars the better for me, but my partner loved the Ramada New Yorker when we stayed there in July.
  15. Max Budget is around $100-110. Would love something like the Grande Hyatt, which I've also seen people getting for that range sometimes. I've generally stayed anywhere in the following districts: - Chelsea - MTE - MTW - MSG - Times Square/Theatre - Empire State Bldg The Ramada New yorker's just the perfect location, but anywhere north of 14th St. and South of Central Park is really okay.
  16. Looking for a hotel this weekend in NYC. Hoping to pay ~$100 a night. Calendar of wins says only one win - Feb 20th for Roosevelt. Not a fan of that property. Hoping for the Ramada New yorker (stayed there in July -- used Betterbidding.com PRICELINE link and loved the property & the free wifi!). Saw another win for the New yorker in Jan for $85 a night, but just tried and no dice. Any advice?
  17. Thanks for this info OP! I also booked a 4* at the Hyatt for 8/20-8/22 Two rooms. Bid once at 4* - Montreal at $85 and was rejected. Added Laval (as there are no 4*'s in Laval) and upped the price to $87. Was accepted! Thanks again to the OP and Better Bidding!!
  18. Just like this priceline win I also just go the 4* Hyatt Regency for $78 for Sat/Sunday night, Feb 13-14th. Tried $75 and got denied. Added Laval and kept 4* and got $78 accepted. Thanks OP!
