I think I've figured this out: HOTWIRE does not list any 4* hotels available for this weekend. Thus PRICELINE will reject all bids for that weekend.

I've researched winning bids for 4* in downtown Milwaukee. Most recently I read about success $69/night (at Hyatt I think) for this past weekend (8/25 - 8/26). To date, I've entered 4 bids via the PRICELINE link on the betterbidding site would no success for the weekend of 10/5 - 10/7. Here's my bid history:

8/26: Bid $90/night - No success

8/26: Bid $100/night - No success

8/27: Bid $110/night - No success

8/27: Bid $118/night - No success

I understand I'm no longer bidding in "summer" months, but I'm approaching twice the rate of the last winning bid.

What were the dates of your stay? I just tried $90 and $100 for 10/5/12 thru 10/7/12 with no success. Do you have other suggestions of other areas that don't have 4* in order to "add an area" to submit another bid today?

Or should I just rebid once a day?

For $209/night for 8/10/2012. After reading betterbidding history for 4* in Theater district I was expecting Palmer or W. So I was surpised to get Monaco.

Booked the Ambassador Hotel for $59 ($73.66 w/ tax & recovery) for one night 5/22/2012. HotWire listed the amenities as; Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), and High-Speed Internet Access

I selected just Omaha downtown for 1 night, 3/28/2011, 3* and above with a $55 bid. That bid was rejected with a suggestion to try again at $70. We bid $62 and that bid was accepted for the Doubletree Hotel And Exec. Meeting Center, 1616 Dodge Street.

FYI - Just booked 3 star in Portsmouth, NH for $99/night via BB HOTWIRE link. Turned out to be the Holiday Inn Portsmouth.
