  1. Just won this hotel at $75/night ($94 with tax) for 1 night. FYI - Priceline has split up this zone into two parts - Magnificent Mile and "Downtown / River north" are now separate.
  2. Was trying to get the Marriott Marquis (a conference I'm attending is hosted there), but I scored the Hyatt Regency instead... no problem, since it's right across the street from the Marquis! PS - forgot to use the PRICELINE link on BB. Sorry guys! I'll make sure to use it next time.
  3. 4-star Hotel in Magnificent Mile North - Water Tower This Hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access 5/14 - 5/16
  4. 4-star Hotel in Reston - Sterling - Dulles Intl Airport IAD North This Hotel features the following amenities: Airport Shuttle Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access
  5. I just booked a 4-star hotel in Chicago's Magnificent Mile / Water Tower area with an advertised (crossed-out) rate of $179/night and a "discounted rate" of $112/night. There were four or five different hotels with the same set of amenities so I knew it was a crapshoot, but I got the Millenium Knickerbocker. Five minutes later on I'm the hotel's website and sure enough, the SAME EXACT BOOKING would have cost me only $5 more. For a two day trip! I called Hotwire and asked for an explanation and all the idiot said was "sir, it says right in the disclaimer that these crossed-out rates are just averages for hotels with similar hotel ratings." Seriously? What a waste of time. Now you have to look up every hotel's retail rates manually and compare against the quoted "discount" rate. /rant
  6. Just scored the Westin Reston Heights in Reston, VA (right next to IAD) for $74 a night. Description matched the stickied thread perfectly. Thanks guys!
  7. Does priceline bidding still work well for last-minute hotel bookings (i.e. a day or two in advance)? Going to Vegas this weekend and would like to get a separate hotel from my group if possible so I'm thinking of giving it a shot. Hotwire's last-minute prices are astronomical, as expected (all 4-stars on the strip are $200+ night).
  8. Just confirming I too booked a 2.5 star hotel with the same amenities, and it's still the same hotel (Holiday Inn Express at Carter Lake), albeit for $67 a night (still better than $100 a night!). Also, I used HOTWIRE the links. complimentary Breakfast high speed internet golf nearby Thanks BB!
  9. chances are that 5* is the Wynn and not the Venetian. Typically the Venetian includes a high-speed internet amenity listed in the mix...
  10. Just posting my results... I ended up getting the one that was 5* for $163 (although the rate went up to $168). It was the WYNN hotel, and its amenities were listed as such: Casino Fitness Center Pools Restaurants Business Center Golf nearby Tennis nearby Spa services Also, I used this forum's HOTWIRE link so hopefully you guys get my referral. This forum has been very helpful! PS - can someone please move this to the hotwire forum? This is a bit out of place due to my mis-post, and could help someone in the future...
  11. I should have done a little more research first :) It appears the $106 condo is the Trump, as per this Las Vegas Hotwire thread, and the $163/night 5* is either the Wynn or the Venetian, as per Hotwire Las Vegas Strip thread. Sorry for posting too much!
  12. Hi there, A few search results come up on Hotwire... 5* Center Strip "condo" for $106 5* Center Strip Hotel for $163 4.5* Center Strip Hotel for $239 I'm trying to avoid the Trump, so what do you guys think these hotels are?
