  1. The cookies were nice indeed as I was famished when I arrived. Very Nice spacious suite, 2 TVs, fridge, walk-in shower. View is of the freeway but who cares. there's on-street parking for up to 2 hours and a public Parking for $8/day across the street so no need to pay the hotel's rates unless you plan to be in and out a lot. I'm off to check the Pier and beach around the corner now.. :)
  2. kept on getting offers to add $17, from 60, 67, 68.. had to work around the zones but ended up with 70. I was hoping for the Crowne Plaza to be honest. Seems Parking is a rip off and there's some bad comments on TripAdvisor. we're in town for the Pearl Jam concerts though, so won't spend much time at the hotel.
  3. bid from 40 up adding zones. accepted at $60. I need to be early at the airport the next morning so that suits fine. hotel website rate is $139. Parking seems to be $22 though so if someone knows of a cheaper place to park..
  4. booked on the day, basic but clean motel. seems there's quite a few along that strip of W Sunset boulevard (in the music shops area).. walked back from Hollywood/highland at 1.30am after getting the last train from Universal city, lots of people around so didn't feel too unsafe, but then I'm used to London. They tried to charge me $2.50 for the internet but I pointed out their site said free internet so they didn't. Parking charges are $10 I think but I didn't have a car. there's a free albeit very basic breakfast provided. normal price is $89 so not bad deal.
  5. Got a room in the lower rise building, didn't use the pool or anything as just in town for a concert but very nice hotel.
  6. they seemed to have forgotten about the extra charge for the 2-bed, said I'd pre-paid that's all :) Friendly service. 1 bad thing is the Internet. it's of a pay online PER COMPUTER variety. so we didn't and went to a internet caf
  7. was given a 2 bed room in the end. nice hotel, not much around though but it was easy enough to get around. we didn't use any of the amenities as we were just in town for a concert. Avoid the Mexican restaurant across the road though, yuck.
  8. accepted first time, probably could have got it for $60. total with taxes $157.06 for 2 nights. Hotel website rate is $229/night + tax.
  9. called to request a 2-beds room as might be more people staying now. they said they could not guarantee but were taking note of the request. we'll see how it goes when we arrive.
  10. called hotel to request 2-beds room as now 3-4 of us staying. they said I needed to upgrade to deluxe: cost $20/night extra for the room, but no extra cost if 4 people. still a good deal :)
  11. just called the hotel to request a 2-beds room as might now have a 3rd person. no problem, said it will be done and no fee (even if more than 2 people) :)
  12. bid $65, rejected, added Vancouver, bid 70$ accepted. best official rate was $139 (with internet though). I was hoping for the Westin, but that will do for my birthday :)
  13. bid from 65 to 83 on 4* bid 65 on 3.5* bid 65 on 3*, was offered to rebid if adding $17 started again adding North Vancouver (no 3*) for US$74, offered accepted...$180 total with the tax for both nights. checked on their website, cheapest room is CAD$179.99 (so $167, before tax).
  14. started at $40 and adding areas ended up at $60...not much cheaper than booking direct ($69 21 day advance, $79 14 day advance), especially once you factored the tax. completed with a non-US Credit card (giving full UK address but state as Utah and zip 99999)
