  1. Ok-- full list found=

resort, pet friendly, indoor pool(s), fitness center, pool(s), restaurant(s), business center, self-service laundry, internet access, spa services, accessibility for visually impaired, accessibility for hearing impaired, accessible path of travel, in -room accessibility, accessible bathroom, accessible parking, roll-in shower

  2. Booked two rooms. Happened to hit a sweet spot on the price to stay the night of an event.

Amenities=   Resort, pet friendly, indoor pool(s), fitness center, pool(s), restaurant(s), business center, self-service laundry, internet access.

Multiple bids on PL to $140 for 5* Downtown- no takers. I had browsed the HW forum and noticed a previous Fairmont win as a 5* and the Hot Rate Deal@ $137 was in the desired area-->  purchased and got our first choice.

I will be more thorough in the future and check the HW forums more often!  HW and PRICELINE links used for research, bids and purchase. Thanks again for the site.

EDIT-- Son of a gun--- just saw that I missed a $10 off coupon on the top of the page...  still a nice deal.

  3. Bid for 4.5* from $62.00 by steps to $92.00 and got the James... Used the Better Bidding PRICELINE links for all bidding...... This seemed to match the amenities for the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal shown for $100.

I botched the dates- planned on seeing what I won and maybe add some nights in another area since this is our first trip to Chicago. However the James location actually seems to be very good for all of our visit. I was going to add all extra nights to the James but could only add a max of two (original bid).

I rebid at 92 for the rest= fail.. $95 won the rest of the nights for a checkout date of 4/29........  Feel free to adjust the winning bid title as needed.

I tried some 5* bids a couple of different ways->  22-24th or 27-29th... bids to $177= fail............. Express deal for 5* showed only one hotel for $210 to $225 depending on dates used.

Thanks again for hosting such a helpful site.

    Regards, Mike

P.S. We fly into MDW at 0740 on a Wednesday. Best to take a taxi or EL to the hotel?  We are still planning the itinerary but anticipate purchasing CTA passes for some of the trip.

  4. Hello BB, I will be bidding for 1 or 2 days targeting the Orlando Airport-MCO (name your price area#15). I was questioning the BB PL hotel list which lists the Florida Hotel/Conf Center as an MCO hotel win since the Florida Mall(except a small portion on the PL map) is within Orlando Airport West- FL Mall Area (area#13).

By reviews the FL Hotel(3.5*) has been charging an added resort fee upon check-in. I disagree with the added "resort fee" here and this hotel is about a mile or more outside MCO area#15 border. Basically, I wish to bid for closest to the airport.

When I questioned PL re bidding--- "Trying to bid Orlando/MCO= map Area 15 for 3.5* room. The FL

Hotel/Conf. Center is in the Fl Mall(Area 13) but is listed as an MCO/15

hotel- Which is correct? If I bid only Area 15 is Fl Hotel a possible

win? Per reviews they charge an added resort fee on check-in, is that

allowed? Can bidder refuse it? Thank you."

They replied--- "Please note that the areas presented for Name Your Own Price

reservations are not the same as those offered for our retail rates.

When requesting a reservation where the hotel name is not revealed prior

to purchase, we provide you with one or more area maps that break major

cities into more manageable areas. These maps clearly outline the

boundaries of each area. Your confirmed hotel is guaranteed to be within

the area boundaries shown prior to purchase."

The last 2 sentences including *maps clearly outline boundaries* and *guaranteed to be within the area boundaries shown prior to purchase* would seem to exclude FL Hotel from area#15 bids. PL did not address question re 3.5* hotel charging added resort fees and could bidder refuse them. To me the bid plus taxes and fees shown as the total cost of your bid should be the max price with "resort fees" built into the total bid not an extra fee. SIGH.. the world does not always work as I wish:) In the past I have bid for resorts, been aware of the impending added fees and paid without complaint.

I will likely still bid for MCO and avoid including area#13 as a re-bid area and see what happens.

Thanks to BB for the hotel lists which alerted me to the possiblity of a less desirable (for me) win. The BB lists are always excellent to help me choose what areas and star levels to bid.

    Regards,

  5. Bid 5* to (correction- only bid to $241 not 260) to try for Four Seasons for an event. No luck. Bid 4.5* to $185. No luck.

Saw a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for 4* downtown was listed for $169. Thought it might be the Intercontinental(?). Checked HW and PL and some hotel sites.

Bid for 4* $110-120-130-143-157 and then entered $162 thinking "just get the express deal and stop messing with this". Got the Intercontinental.

Looks nice and not too far from where I need to be 2/9.

Used the PRICELINE links for bidding.

    Thanks again to BB.

  6. Hello BB.

Yes it has been difficult trying to book my stay over a busy weekend. I have 4 nights of 5 booked of 3/21 to 3/26.

3/21 thru 3/24 was not achieved for a 3.5 star w/ bids to $180. Saturday 3/23 may be the day for me to move out of downtown and/or drop the star level.

3/21 -> 3/23 four* bids started at $103-123-133-?-155. PL price for Lenox was $235/ night. (edit)$334 on LMT!

So, Lenox for 2 nights and Omni for 2 nights. Neither offer of "extend your trip for the same price" was accepted by PL/hotel when I tried that route. (edit)No counter offer for a higher amt was made by PL/hotel in either case- don't know if that happens sometimes.

    Regards,

  7. Hello BB,

I checked some date combos and Sun/Mon (24th/25th) was quoted lower rates w/ 4* available in Commons, Quincy and Back Bay for $105 to $150.

Bid 85 in Commons -> was offered free re-bid for 105. Added Back Bay for $98 and got the Omni Boston Parker House.

I will post result in an "Omni" titled post and results for the 3/21-23 bids when it is done.

    Regards,

  8. Hello BB,

Used BB a few times and am looking for suggestions in Boston-- area in or close to Commons- 3/21-26. ThuRs till checkout Tues.

Have bid (using BB link) a couple of times for a 4*. Bids include $75-85-95-103-106-125-135. Bid areas include Commons, Financial, Copley, and some non4* re-bid zones. No luck as yet. Will start including Beacon Hill

I am considering breaking the bids into 2+ stays. Preference is for near Commons area 3/24 and will consider raising bids and dropping stars.

Is there a good method to split the days for bidding with my stay Thur. till Tues. departure? R/F then S/S/M or, R then F/S/S or, R/F/S and target Sun or some other combo? Poor bidding idea to split Sat-Sun?

I can leave Mon 25th out of bidding in hopes of them offering another night stay or bid for easy departure or other sightseeing.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Regards,

  9. Bidding for a 4* one night stay to relax after HHN. Began at $45 since I saw a winning bid for Dec.

Declined through multiple rebids. Won on my 5th re-bid. Last losing bid was $67.

Will be our first time staying here.

The only nearby 4* Express Deal was in the I-Drive North area was $86 and I suspect it may have been the Crowne Plaza. PL listed the 4* "similar value $254" which was the priceline price for the Universal Loews.

Are the amenities for the Express Deals pretty much the same those in the BB hotel list? Thanks for any info.

    Regards, LokiRN

  10. This is for a Wed + Thurs night.. Confirmation came with offer to extend for more nights at same rate. I wasn't sure if we will stay more nights now or stop on the way back from Charleston. Does the "extend" offer last a short time- or does expiration time vary according to their whims? We might just rebid for the weekend if we decide to stay longer before Charleston.

Thanks for assistance on the site.

  11. Fast bidding- have to leave tonight for Seattle and Montana 7/30-8/5

I had seen winning June bids for 15 to 18.00

GF bid for standard 18.00 and full sized cars 21.00-- no luck.

Thru the BB PRICELINE link I entered 31 for full- PL suggested 39 to 41.00-- I upped to 33.00- No luck.

PL said 42 would get me a car- this was the same as the offer as on Hotwire so I took it.

    5 day 20 hours= total $379. Hertz price for this was "760".

P/U in the airport is nice too.

  12. Hello

Bid for 4* Orlando/Universal/Seaworld 2 nights 9/11 and 9/12.... $56 declined... $61 rebid adding corporate area accepted by the Renaissance across from Seaworld. Convenient since we are going to SW 9/12 and Universal on 9/11 and 9/13. 2 rooms

Would have been interested in a Rosen or Westin also but happy here.....

For future reference..... I was also looking for the possibility of a suite for 4 adults but saw nothing on PRICELINE (2 occupant guaranteed) or HOTWIRE. Any way to search for this in the future?

Used BB PRICELINE link this time :)
