  1. I initially was trying to win a room in the Emory-Druid Hills Area. Based on previous wins on BetterBidding, I expected to get either the Courtyard Executive Park or Doubletree Druid Hills for under $50. After 3 different days of rebidding in $3 increments starting from $40, all the way up to $60, I got no bites. I researched to determine if there was a convention going on at that time and saw that there is actually a NFL game going on 10/9, which I assume affects whether or not rooms are released to Priceline. I finally opened up to checking into a different area and looked into getting a room in the Northlake area. Initial bid was $45 (rejected), $48 (rejected), $54 (rejected), and finally winning at $58 a night. I'm still a little disappointed as even $58 a night for that area is a little high for Priceline which is only a savings of 30% compared to the advertised 40 - 60%.
  2. Can't remember exactly what bid I started at, but I believe that it was $45 which was rejected. Based on the amount of free rebids I would've had, most likely, my following rebids were $48 and $51 with me finally winning at $54. Wish I could have gotten for under $50, but this will do as it's just an overnight before I get on a cruise the next day. Thanks BetterBidding!
  3. Just to update this thread. I was actually doing this for my sister who informed me that just to make sure that she got a room, she used some skymiles + $200 to get a hotel room. I think it was for the best as it looks like we wouldn't have gotten anything under $100 for that weekend.
  4. Yes.....my max amount for 3* and 3.5* is $75. I tried again 2 more times yesterday. At 3.5*: $50, $54, $57, $60, $62, $64, $66, $68, $70, $75 All rejected..... At 3* $50, $55, $60, $65 All rejected.... Do you think if I book one day (7/29, Thursday) they'll still give me the option of extending my days?
  5. I would prefer to close the stay within the next couple of days. I've hadn't heard the best things about the hotels in the 3* and 3.5* range. The only 3.5 star hotels are the Doubletree and Sheraton Suites. If I decide to drop down to 3* or 3.5*, where should I start my bidding at?
  6. I started at $50 hoping to get Hotel Solamar. This area has 13 rebid zones at a 4* level so: $50, rejected $54, rejected $57, rejected $55, rejected $59, rejected $60, rejected $64, rejected $68, rejected $69, rejected $62, rejected $70, rejected $71, rejected $73, rejected $75, rejected I'll have to try again tomorrow. Do you think I'll have a better chance if I wait until next week? I really don't want to spend more than $80/night. Or do you think I should just lower to 3.5*?
  7. I'm trying to the silver lining in the situation. But it seems to keep raining as I just found out that they charge $20/night for parking.
  8. Entered first bid of of $47 and was accepted. Am not happy about this as I was hoping for a hotel closer to the airport and based on previous bids on here, seems like I overpaid. Should have put in $50 first...oh well...
  9. I saw a post stating a winning bid at this hotel for $40. I decided to start my bid at $34 which was rejected. I then increased my bid to $37 and was accepted. I used the PRICELINE link from this forum. Thanks!!!
