  1. I forgot to mention that I used the PRICELINE link from this website for this win....
  2. Started bidding for a 4 star hotel in the Riverwalk area at $55 with no success. Added another zone that did not have any 4 star hotels and increased my bid to $60 and it was accepted! So I got it for $60 plus $17.64 taxes for a total of $77.64.
  3. I used the PRICELINE link from this site on 9/14/11 and started my bid at $41 for 2.5* in Lexington North (thinking I might get the 2.5* Clarion Hotel that I got the previous month), which was accepted on the first try and they increased it a 3* hotel instead of a 2.5* that I bid on, which I'll take! I paid $41 plus $12.94 taxes for a total of $53.94 for one night. This was a nice hotel that was an excellent value for price I paid.
  4. I used the PRICELINE link from this site on 8/18/11 and started my bid at $41 for 3* in Lexington North, which was rejected, added 2.5* and increased my bid to $44, which was accepted. I paid $44 plus $13.41 taxes for one night. This was a nice hotel that was an excellent value for price I paid.
  5. I used the PRICELINE link from this site and on 7/26/11 I made a lowball bid for a 1* in Morehead for $35, which was rejected. I then had to wait 24 hours since there no other areas of town or star ratings to add, so on 7-27-11 I bid $41, which was also rejected, but I was offered a free rebid at $51. Since I was bidding less than 24 hours before I needed a room, I accepted the free rebid at $51.00 per night for a total of $102 plus $20.32 taxes for the 2 night stay. I felt that this wasn't a bad price since the least expensive Hotwire deal I saw was for $71 per night for the days I needed to stay there. The hotel was not the greatest, but was adequate if you really need a place to stay in Morehead. If you don't mind staying about 45 minutes to an hour away from Morehead, I think you get much better value for your money staying in Lexington where you can usually get a much nicer hotel room for less money.
  6. We found this hotel to be a nice experience. We were hoping to win a hotel located right on the Riverwalk, but this one is a very short walking distance away from the Riverwalk and just steps from the back gate of the Alamo grounds, which we would cut through for an even shorter, more picturesque shortcut to the Riverwalk. After reading what the previous reviewer said about the hotel, I was a little apprehensive about staying here, but was very happy with our stay. I called the hotel directly after I won this stay and asked about the size of the room under my reservation. I was told that it had one queen bed. I asked if we could get one with two queen beds and was told that there would be a $20 upgrade fee for that. I asked if there was any way they could waive this and the person I was talking to agreed to waive it this one time. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. There was no odor of any kind in the hallway or in our room like the previous reviewer described. The beds were extremely comfortable. I had read about the $26 valet parking at the hotel, which is in an uncovered lot near the hotel. I did a little research and parked in a nearby covered parking garage just a short walking distance away at the Rivercenter Mall garage for just $18 per night and had no problems. I would stay here again and had a very nice time.....so don't worry if you win this hotel as it isn't nearly as bad as some reviewers say.
  7. I just wanted to add that I stayed at this location on 4-4-10, and found it to still be very clean and comfortable, as the original reviewer had said a few years ago. I, too, did not even smell a hint of smoke in the room, which was nice to get a truly smoke-free room. Also, the parking lot is well-lit and parking is free. The hotel location is great.....just minutes from the Galleria. The hotel does not include a free breakfast, as some travel websites indicate, but overall our stay was well worth it for $31 per night.
  8. Won this hotel on the 3rd try.......started bidding at $30 in Irving-Las Colinas, which was rejected. Added new area: Market Center-DAL Love Field and rebid, which was also rejected. Then added Galleria-Dallas North area and increased bid to $31 and won this hotel: Holiday Inn Dallas North-Addison 4960 Arapaho Road Addison, TX 75001 $31 plus $11.75 tax for a total of $42.75 I was a little apprehensive about this win because I saw mixed reviews about it on different websites, but I was very pleased when I got there because it is in a great location just minutes from the Galleria, has a well-lit parking lot and is located in a very safe area, so I didn't worry about leaving my car in the parking lot (and it included free parking, by the way). Also, our room was spacious and very clean and did not smell of even a hint of smoke (a reviewer on another website had said that their smoke-free room smelled of smoke). However, this hotel does not include a free breakfast, which some of the travel websites says it does. Don't be afraid if you get this hotel......we found it to be very nice, especially for this price! Used the PRICELINE link from this website to secure this win 2 days before our stay.
  9. Won this on first bid try: Emily Morgan Hotel 705 E. Houston St. San Antonio, TX 78205 $63 plus $19.99 tax for a total of $82.99 We asked for a got a free upgrade to a room with 2 queen beds, which was very spacious and clean. Also, we did not pay $26 per day for valet parking at the hotel since we read it was an outside lot. Instead, we parked nearby at the Rivercenter Mall covered garage for $18 per night and had no problems. We loved our room and this hotel. It was clean and spacious and location is completely awesome....literally across the street from the back gate of the Alamo grounds and just a few blocks from the riverwalk. We had hoped to win a hotel right on the riverwalk, but we loved this hotel and would recommend staying here.
  10. First bid for $31 bidding on 3* in the LIT Airport area was rejected, so added West and increased bid to $32, which was still rejected. Added 2.5* and won this hotel: Jameson Suites Little Rock 10920 Financial Center Parkway Little Rock, Arkansas 72211 501-225-1075 $33.00 plus taxes of $11.21 for a total of $44.21 This hotel was okay. I would not choose to stay there again unless I had to because it wasn't quite as clean as I would have liked (hair and dust on floor of bathroom) and the beds weren't the most comfortable. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly, you get a free breakfast with it that included belgian waffles and biscuits and gravy, and the rooms are all suites that were very spacious and included a mini-refrigerator. Plus it is in convenient and safe location. Used the PRICELINE link from this website to secure this win.

The free breakfast was a full hot breakfast that is the best complimentary breakfast I've ever had at any hotel. There was also free popcorn and sodas in the lobby all day and a free beverage/snack reception in the evening in which adult hotel guests got 3 complimentary cocktails. It is right across the street from Busch Stadium and the Arch is right behind the hotel. Will definitely stay here again!
  13. We stayed in this downtown hotel in March, 2008, for a spring-break trip to St. Louis with our family. We LOVED this hotel. It was a beautiful hotel with decadent architecture and tons of free extras. We got a free hot breakfast, which included biscuits and gravy, sausage, scrambled eggs and many other delicious items. They also have a free evening Beverage Reception, which includes savory snacks and 3 free cocktails per adult guest. We also had free wireless internet, and free popcorn and soda in the lobby, which was a real hit with our kids. The lobby is relaxing and beautiful and is nice to just hang out in while eating some popcorn and soda The hotel is located within walking distance of the Gateway Arch (just behind the hotel), Busch Stadium (across the street from the hotel) , and many other many other notable attractions. We walked all over downtown and were never far from our hotel. The rooms were clean and the furnishings were nice. There was a nice indoor pool with 2 hot tubs, which the kids also liked. The only negative thing I could say about this hotel is that the rooms are not real spacious. But they were very nice and clean, and there was so much to see and do, we didn't spend a lot of time in our room. Next time we go to St. Louis, we will definitely be staying at this hotel!
