  1. The two star is still there. For the three star, is 3 out of 5 from tripadvisor a good choice?
  2. Hi, Thanks for the help you guys have been giving me so far. Headed back to Hilton Head Island for a wedding. Need help identifying the following two hotels: 3* : Near Beach Complimentary Breakfast <amenity names only please... not descriptions> Pool(s) Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby 2*: Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Acces Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Thanks for the help.
  3. Hey, Thanks for the help. My friends decided to rent a house for the night instead.
  4. I decided to crash at a friends place in the end.
  5. Hi, I know its kinda late, but what is a reasonable bidding price for a 3.5* and up hotel in Savannah historic district for 5/29~30? Yes, it is Memorial weekend so the prices might be up a bit. Thanks for your help.
  6. ok, so I tried the four stars up to 170 and nothing. I was looking through IHG's website for friends and family discount and found that the going published rate on their sites are as follows for NYC hotels: 2 double beds: Holiday Inn downtown / Soho : $168. Holiday Inn Express Time Square : $189 Holiday Inn Express Madison Square Garden :$186 Holiday Inn 6ave : $ 204 Would you think these rates are comparable to what is expected if I use bidding on Priceline? Or would I be able to get lower prices on the respective zones and star level? Thanks
  7. I think ESB and CPS are acceptable as well. I guess MSG would be for a 3 or a 3.5* if I can't get anything for my budget.
  8. Hey, Thanks for your help. I was thinking of aiming for 140~160 range. If not possible during that time of year, I'll probably drop to maybe a 3 or 3.5 star hotel. Thanks
  9. Hey, Its me again. I was wondering if anyone can give me a ballpark range of the prices of 4* rooms in NYC (Madison Square ,MTE, MTW, Time Square) for 5/17~5/20? I need two rooms. Thanks for the help.
  10. I ended up doing the 2 adults + 1 child option with the following amenities: Resort, Beachfront, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Golf, Tennis, Kitchenette, Spa, Childrens Activities. I wanted to be safe since I have two dogs that are going to come with us and Crowne Plaza doesn't allow dogs. But it seems to be the same hotel. Its interesting how one showed beachfront but one didnt. Thanks again for your help!
  11. Hey, It turns out to be Hilton Oceanfront Resort Hilton Head Island. Thanks for the neat trick, didn't know that would have made any difference. I wished they would have like a "pet" option for the search as well, that would have limited the search. As always, I used the HOTWIRE link for this forum.
  12. Following is from hotwire description: Resort Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Children's Activity Program What bothers me is that no "near beach" or beachfront / oceanfront icons listed. Any ideas what it might be? And I didn't see any resort fees listed as well. Chances are its Crowne Plaza... Thanks for the help.
  13. Not to be nosy, But as of what I was doing, for 9/17~9/20 between MTE, MTW and TS you're looking about $200 staying at Sheraton Hotel and Towers. But that's for this combination only, I'm pretty sure you probably won't be able to go below $200 between MTE and MTW. Because I tried that combination as well up to $190.
  14. Yeah, I kinda panicked because I'm suppose to attend a wedding and was booking for other people as well. I didn't want to screw things up because quite a few people would get upset if I do. Maybe next time I'll try a riskier strategy. And plus I already had to cancel one unintentional successful bid because I wasn't paying attention to detail...another long story. PRICELINE was kind enough to let me cancel but at a price of $25. But again, thanks for your help. This forum has definitely helped me and I will be here more often!
  15. Oh, I thought that when you said rebid zones don't arent the same as priceline zones you meant that priceline draws different zones for rebids. I was able to get 2 rooms at Sheraton Hotel and Tower for $200 per night. I wonder if that's a bit high. I tried up to $190 at both Midtown East and Time Square but wasn't able to get anything. Hopefully it isnt' as bad as some review claim it to be. Thanks for your help.
  16. A little more detail to my plans: Travel date : 9/17~9/20 City: NYC Number of Rooms : 3 Priceline Zones: MTE, MTW, and TS. What would be more reasonable price around this travel date? $180 maybe? Just curious, in this situation, would it be better to start off with individual zones instead of all three zones together? Would this get more free rebid? Or would it not matter? For instance would MTE + MTW be a subset of MTE and MTW if I had already gone through the two zone individually? And I'm kinda confused as to what is the difference between PRICELINE zones and re-bid zones. Thanks for your help.
  17. Hi, So I was wondering what might be a more reasonable price those two zones around 9/17~9/20? And also what would the strategy be if I only wanted MTE, MTW, and TS ? BTW how is rebid zones different as well? Thanks
