  1. Is the Comfort Inn now a 2 star? I thought it was 2.5, so thought it might be something else.
  2. I don't really know much about Tampa. Going for a quick spring training trip. Maybe the 3* (which is prob Holiday Inn) is a better idea? But here are the full amenities FULL AMENITIES: Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower

  4. Do you happen to know which hotel this might be? I've narrowed it down to Sheraton and Showboat - leaning towards Sheraton, but wanted to check.
  5. I just wanted to close out this thread. My friend's truck broke down and ended up not coming to visit.

  9. Ended up waiting a couple days and using the PRICELINE link just won Aria for $112/night.
  10. Don't want to lose half of Sunday checking out at 11am and checking in somewhere at 3pm... But I was thinking if I eliminated a zone then I might maximize my chance to get the same hotel.
  11. It's my first time in Vegas, so a little nervous about the possibility of having to switch hotels. Not sure how to avoid this other than avoid bidding on Strip North zone and only bidding on South. Seems like 9 out of 10 wins are at Aria.
  12. Got up to $110 and nothing. Pretty surprised about that because I'm getting very close to the Hotwire offer of $123. Better to wait a few days and start over or to keep increasing my bid?
  13. Hi...I'm trying to bid on a 5 star hotel on the Vegas Strip for 4/21 - 4/25. I've bid up to $95. Rates for Vdara on hotels.com is $149/night and there is a 5* in Strip South which I assume is Aria on Hotwire for $123/night. Do you think I'm pretty close? Any point in waiting a little while and trying again? I'm guessing I'm fairly close and $105 might win it.
  14. Now the cheapest fare is $598 - $640 with fees. All times on those look acceptable. I have 20 minutes to cancel my existing flight.
  15. I think I don't want to spend more than $340-350 with the fees on an opaque purchase. Not sure if that's in the range with the counter offer at $386 with the fees. The trip isn't "necessary" either. Is there a better likelihood of getting a good deal a day or two out? I know it's that way with the hotels, but flights just seem trickier to me.
  16. I'm looking for a little help to bid on a flight from any of the NY airports (LGA, JFK, EWR) to DSM for next Thursday. I waited a little too long and flights jumped a ton. I'm not sure what to bid. I tried yesterday and bid up to $270 ($320 and change with the fees) and it was rejected. The counter offer was for a $330 bid which would bring the flight to $380. Currently, the cheapest flight is $618 (total $657 with fees). What do you think is an acceptable bid? I booked a one way for $255 that I can cancel by 11am and have a flight on hold for miles + $105. So it would have to be cheaper than $360 since that's what I'd be paying (excluding the miles) and know the flight times and airlines. I just don't know if that's in the range of possibility anymore.
  17. I won't be booking this property - I was trying to help out a friend and do some research for her upcoming trip here, but I think she's going to book a travel package somehow else instead.
  18. You're going tomorrow for the Yanks/O's game? We're driving down from NYC for the games, too! But ended up winning on Priceline and got Marriott Camden Yards.
  19. Used the PRICELINE link and won the Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards for this Saturday night. Started with 4* and was rejected at $110. Went to 3.5* and using rebid zones, started at $94, then $100 and was accepted at $105. This was after days of trying at slightly lower prices. Knew I had to be close.
  20. Done - sorry about that. Never ended up going on that trip and it totally slipped my mind.
  21. Just providing an update - never ended up going on this Miami trip.
  22. Amenities are Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, Spa Services Dates: 7/21-7/25 $143 Central Park area Also says Recommended in 95% of customer reviews Doesn't say boutique as an amenity, so I'm not sure if it's on the hotel list or not. Any ideas would be great!
  23. Tried again today using rebid zones - bid $55, then $57, then won for $60. Hyatt Regency.
  24. Does the FESTIVE10 promo code on Expedia work for the Hilton which they have on there for $80/night?
  25. I'm coming in with two friends from NY from 12/10-12/13 to see the Giants/Vikings game. Tried bidding yesterday on a hotel in downtown Minneapolis. Using rebid zones (and even eliminating the 12/10 date because we have friends we could stay with), we bid up to $70 per night and got nothing. We were kind of surprised since the Hilton is available on their website for $80/night and the Hyatt Regency on theirs for $129/night. Do you think it's too far out to get a great deal? I'm thinking about taking the $85 AAA rate on the Hilton which can be cancelled and trying again in a few weeks. Is this my best option?
