  1. I didn't end up going for the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal nor a PL bid. My plans changed so that I just needed a one-night stay, and the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal was higher than I wanted to pay for one night. I ended up going with my employee rate (mid-level chain) and the stay was underwhelming. Oh well, it was only a night and I saved a substantial amount on my quick trip. BUT in hindsight I should have bid for the 3.5! Thanks again for the help! :)
  2. Many thanks for the link! I'm going to sit on this for another day or so considering my dates are well before UVA Freshman students arrive in town. B) I will come back to this thread to report my final decision.
  3. Thank you, Doubletree was my guess as well. Can you lead me in the direction that you're seeing $115 for what might be Omni? Omni is my goal. :)
  4. CI - Tue, Aug 12 CO - Thu, Aug 14 3.5* - In or Outdoor Pool, Airport Shuttle, Fitness Room, Free Internet, Free Parking, Business Center
  5. Is Omni still believed to be the only 3.5* for Charlottesville, VA that comes up via PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal? I ask because the amenities don't add up if I'm looking at it correctly. As of this date/time the PL site is showing free internet (to my knowledge Omni only offers that to those enrolled in their 'member's program') and, airport shuttle which I do not see listed on the Omni site. While I haven't done any further research, it sounds more like Doubletree which I'm not particularly interested in booking. Any insight is appreciated. And, as always I have gone through the BB links to Price.Line and Hot.wire during my research and will do when ready to bid/purchase. :) Enjoy the day!
  6. I was only interested in 2.5* and I had plenty of time to make bids so everytime I was denied, I simply waited until another day to bid again. I did not add any stars or areas. Also, the first three times I entered a bid I went through the PRICELINE link here on BB just like I have many times in the past. However, on my last bid when I was using PL Reward Dollars, the link would not work for me. I tried a couple of times going through BB but it would not let me access My Rewards. I know it can be done because I've accessed it before. Perhaps PL was having a problem because they did send out an invalid coupon the day prior. Anyway, I did try BB!! Mar 31 $52 Denied Apr 04 $55 Denied Apr 26 $60 Denied May 02 $65 plus $7 Priceline Reward Dollars - Accepted - TOTAL with tax/fees = $80.59 Regular PL price is $99 plus tax/fees so I'm good with my win/savings of $30! :)
  7. 3.5* Long Beach Westin I knew that time was on my side so I never changed areas or ratings. I only bid 3.5 Long Beach zone 1. I also knew upfront I was willing to accept any 3.5 star hotel that I received. It's a one night pre-cruise stay so I'm happy. 1st bid of $51 on Jul 26 was rejected - PL offered a room if I agreed to immediately increase bid to $61 but I declined 2nd bid of $53 on Jul 27 was rejected 3rd bid of $56 on Jul 28 was rejected 4th bid of $57 on Jul 29 was rejected 5th bid of $60 on Aug 1 was accepted The Westin 333 East Ocean Blvd Long Beach, California 90802 562-436-3000 Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $60.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: 60.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $16.33 (USD) Total Room Cost: $76.33 (USD) And, yes, BetterBidding, I used your PRICELINE link (as always)! :)
  8. For the second time in a week (also bid and won on Aug 29) I got the Hyatt Regency in downtown Tampa. I'm still pleased, and I'll be sure to come back with a review after my two stays there. Downtown Tampa 3.5* was the only category I bid, and I just waited for at least 24 hours to pass before I rebid as once again time was on my side. 1st bid of $38 on Aug 30 was rejected 2nd bid of $41 on Sep 1 was accepted Hyatt Regency 211 North Tampa St Tampa, FL 33602 Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $41.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $41.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $12.43 (USD) Total Room Cost: $53.43 (USD) I used the PRICELINE link provided by this site. I'm not new to Priceline bidding but I am new to this site--thanks again for the resources! :)
