  1. Im really sorry to change yet again :)....But after bidding up to $215 for 3.5* in CPS/ts/mtw, i need to go a different route. What would my bidding strategy be for MTE for a 4* starting at $175 (i already bid this for mte)? Would you think that $200 would take it? Thanks!
  2. Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I won this property for $100 saturday night..
  3. 3.5 ts/mtw, and I would like to start the bidding with $180 (i have previously tried up to this amount)
  4. Ok...I am deciding between 3.5* for TS/MTW or 4* for TS/MTW/CPS....WHat would be my stategies, and what do you think would win in the 3.5 or 4* range? Would 200 take it?
  5. Hey guys...Looking to head to NYC for a quick trip, and wanted to get some pricing advice here first. What do you think would win for the folling areas: TS/CPS/MTW for 3.5 and 4 stars? I checked out the calendar and 160ish seems to take it for a 4 start in MTW, do you think that would be accepted in TS as well? Where should I start my bidding? I would like to spend no more than $170, but obviously would prefer to spend a bit less. Thanks!
  6. Sorry for blowing up this thread over the past month. But i am now up to $225 for a 3* in TS and MTW, which would only be a 10% discount on some of the TS 3* properties....Any thoughts on this? I know its heading towards the busiest time, but I always thought that I could alteast get a 10% discount on a TS/MTW hotel....What is holding me back? Is it because i want 3 nights? Should I split??
  7. Ideally, 42nd. Im afraid that ESB could put me a little too far out of where ill be spending the bulk of my time, but what are some draw backs to MTE? 3-3.5* could be a 15 minute walk from a subway, right? How many blocks would that be? What would I expect to pay for a 4* in that case?
  8. Based on our initial itinerary, I plan on spending a large bulk of my time between 5th ave and broadway...What do you recommend for the best value (ie nicest hotel for the $$) relative to distance from those areas, as well as what you expect a 3.5*/4* would go in each one. MTE maybe?
  9. I am at $195 with nothing in 3* TS and MTW. What do you think will take it in those areas?
  10. Ok, I am now out of my acceptible price range.. Can you reccomend a bidding strategy for 3*? What should my opening bid be? What do you think will win a room? 18-21, starting with TS, then going to CPS and MTW.
  11. When going to the Name your own price screen on different days, ive noticed that the avg price for each star rating changes frequently, even though the prices for the hotels through Pricelines main are stay the same...for example: 10/20 10/21 4 389 369 3.5 363 345 3 293 267 Just thought it was pretty interesting...
  12. No luck so far... What would i expect to pay if i added the MTW and CPS zones for the same time period with a 3.5* rating?
  13. I was incorrect, I was looking at different dates. Also, my bidding strategy had only gone up to $175 because there are not a lot of rebidding zones for TS and I started low...In the interest of making sure I am using the right strategy, and considering I am up to 190, what is a bidding strategy for the above nights for ts? Thanks
  14. After doing some more research after some failed bidding attempts, i found out that (for atleast one 3.5* hotel) that the Priceline retail price for thursday was $459 a night, while the price for sunday night is $299. Because of this, I am changing our trip to go from Nov 19-22. I looked at another recent winning bid for $180 during Oct 31-Nov 1, and through looking at Pricelines regular rates, that weekend has the same average price as my weekend does(same area and star location). Does that mean that I have a shot of getting the 3.5* at $180 in TS? Right now I am up to $175 with no luck. What do you think will win in?
  15. Impressive win....Big differences from thurs-sun rather than just sunday night....Im at 205 for a 4* and still rising!
  16. Haha...Yep, basically, if i can get a hotel within a reasonable rate ($230ish), then I am happy paying that much to stay in TS, if not, Ill probably shoot for MTW. How much cheaper are MTW hotels realive to TS? Thanks for the help!
  17. For those reading this and bidding on the same weekend..I am up to $204 4* and 175 3.5* with no luck, I will try again tomorrow!
  18. Just for an increase in confusion, what do you think a 3* would go for Dec 2-5th? I know this is the most popular time to go, but what would win it for TS? Would $200 come close, or am I dreaming?
  19. Thoughts on what would probably win: 3*, 3.5* and a 4* for thurs-sun (18-21) or fri-mon (26-29)
  20. The Shereton is MTc? I bid TS last year and got it...What do you think about the differences between a 3.5 relative to a 4* in the TS area? Will it be worth the price increase, or do you expect that there wont be much of one? I am stuck on the location, as that is a big part of the experience for me, and am happy to pay a premium for that. Thanks!!
  21. Lombardi's is the best pizza that I have ever had hands down. Really looking forward to going again when I head back to NYC.
