  1. Won on first bid. Four Points Sheraton Bakersfield Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $42.00 Subtotal: $42.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.57 Total Charges*: $54.57
  2. Here's the bidding history... $45 Orange County (Costa Mesa-Irvine) 4* - Rejected $48 Added Buena Park-Cerritos-Cypress (true re-bid) - Rejected $50 Added Dana Point (true re-bid) - Rejected $53 Added Disneyland (true re-bid) - Rejected $56 Added Fullerton-Brea (true re-bid) - Rejected $59 Added Laguna Hills-Mission Viejo (true re-bid) - Rejected $63 Added Newport-Huntington Beach (there are 4* hotels here but they tend to go for much higher) - Accepted Also, there is a new region: Seal Beach-North Huntington Beach-Fountain Valley -- so you know! Your Offer Price: $63.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $126.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $24.01 Total Charges*: $150.01 Happy to have gotten the Hyatt Regency Irvine for this price but was hoping to get the Hilton Costa Mesa for slightly less.
  3. Bid $55. Started with 4* Union Square East Added 4* Union Square West Added 4* Fisherman's Wharf Added 4* Airport SFO Changed to 3* Won Marriott SFO Your Offer Price: $55.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $55.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.23 Total Charges: $70.23 Because I was bidding for a same night stay, I didn't mind added zones and then going down in star rank. Though I do think that if I were aiming for 3* in Airport SFO zone, I probably could have gotten away with paying a little bit less. The stay was great in terms of the room. The room had a view of the water and the planes taking off and landing (no noise!). The service at night, however, was terrible. At check-in, the woman asked for my name, started clicking away, asked for a credit card for incidentals, clicked away some more and then handed me a key and nearly walked away. Didn't ask what size bed I wanted, didn't ask if I wanted smoking/non-smoking, didn't tell me when check-out was, didn't even tell me my room number! My friend walked up to the bar to ask the bartender a question and before he even spoke, the bartender cut him off and said, "We're closed". Keep in mind this is one of the only hotels south of SFO that charges $17/day (no in and out priviledges) or $1/hr for parking. I parked across the street, just regular street parking and it was actually closer than walking from the back end of the Marriott parking lot.
  4. Finally won after 3 rebids by adding free zones. First bid $66, then $70, then $75 and accepted at $78. Never offered counter. Your Offer Price: $78.00 Extend Your Stay Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $78.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $17.76 Total Charges: $95.76 Still better than paying full price but was a little surprised that it got this high. I started high because I was aiming for either Marriott Irvine or Hyatt Irvine, both of which have self outdoor parking.
  5. Started with Resort category Marina-Seaside $65. No juice. Added Monterey-Pacific Grove for $75 (true re-bid, no resort category in this area). No juice. Added Carmel Valley for $85 (true re-bid, no resort category in this area). Still no juice. That's about what I'm willing to pay for one night. Oh well.
  6. When I looked a couple days ago, there was a drop down menu navigation at the bottom of each screen to easily jump from topic to topic. Where did it go? It was great. Or is it that I'm using Mozilla and it doesn't show up?
  7. Sorry, yes, it is for this Friday night. 11/19 is correct. Must say, LOVE this forum!
  8. Just bid and was accepted offer of $55, total of about $66 for this hotel. I've stayed here before. It's possibly the nicest Doubletree I've ever seen. I originally tried $60 for a 4* in the same area (Sonoma/Petaluma/Santa Rosa, Napa, Sonoma) but was not accepted.
