  1. Sorry about that. My dates were going to be June 21 - 23, but when I went back later today to purchase the tickets they were sold out. :) Have to keep my eyes open for another good deal.
  2. I'm trying to quickly find out what this property is since Southwest is having a $25 one way sale. 3-star hotel in Jacksonville Beach - Ponte Vedra $122/night Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Laundry High Speed Internet TIA!
  3. Totally understand, however I didn't know about the links. I will remember that in the future, but since I have cancelled this reservation and am not rebooking, it's really a moot point.
  4. Posted replies. Already made this reservation, but will probably end up cancelling it since this is a little too steep for our budget right now. Still hoping to get a better rate through Priceline.com. Was able to rebid this afternoon and bid $150. Still rejected.
  5. Posted reply Wow, now the Hotwire price is up to $245. If it is the Westin that sure isn't a savings.
  6. Hubby's company ended up paying for a stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Philadelphia Airport because we ended up having to take his customers along at the last minute.
  7. Tried unsuccessfully to bid up to $130 with a combination of my dates. I have a backup reservation for $259 at the Westin. When I called to the hotel directly to ask some questions on pet policy, the very nice gentlement mentioned it was not only Easter weekend, but also some type of golf tournament. He told me the hotel is sold out, but there is still availability showing on the website. ???? Can somebody help me with my bidding strategy? The most I'm willing to bid is $150. Westin: $259 Hilton Oceanfront Resort: $233 Marriott Beach and Golf Resort: Sold Out Crowne Plaza: $239 We would have also bid on the 2.5* category, but the Holiday Inn website says they are entirely booked.
  8. 3.5-star hotel in Hilton Head Island Customer Favorite! This distinctive establishment offers comfortable rooms, personal service and some upscale features. See hotel details Resort, Beachfront, Oceanfront, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness, Spa, Internet When I clicked on the link it also added Children's Activities, Golf, Tennis and Business $193per room per night Can anyone help me identify this? I'm thinking this is the Westin, but I've never used Hotwire before and I'm kind of nervous.
  9. After talking with hubby that's what we've decided to do...just waiting for call from TA.
  10. That's what I'm thinking of doing. However, the Marriot is the only hotel that tells you up front that you can park ($17/day since they are onsite at the airport - guess we could park out at satellite before we check in since it's only $9/day) and they only are listing concierge rooms as available for $269/night on most of the other websites. I confirmed this with the Marriott reservations desk and they said there is only one concierge room left. I already checked Hotwire and there is only one 3* listed so that is probably either the Sheraton or the Holiday Inn. Should know in the next day or two what flight the travel agent books us on and I'll be able to decide what our strategy will be.
  11. Thanks for the replies. Ended up heading to another vacation destination, but we may consider this trip summer of 2006.
  12. I've been trying to decide if it will be worth it to stay overnight on an upcoming trip. Called several of the hotels and asked what their daily parking rate was if I won a PL ressie. Some said that unless you actually book a Park & Ride they won't let you park there due to limited space. Anyone check out parking information after they've won a bid recently? Part of the reason we like to stay the night before is for the convenience of the shuttle/parking. Might not be worth it now. :)
  13. I just tried clicking on your link and it's not working for me. :)
  14. Thanks everyone. I was totally confused since I had never heard of the Don Cesar Suites. Thanks for the clarification. I had one more question. When I put in 2 adults and 2 children, the same hotels don't show up as when only put 2 adults in. When I put in 2 adults, 2 children and 2 rooms, the hotels listed above show up again. This is what shows up with 2 adults 2 children - 4* - Beachfront, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Spa Services, Tennis Nearby, Business Center. Would this be the Don Cesar or a standard room at Tradewinds since there is no Resort icon? It comes up at $195/night.
  15. Thanks for your replies. The dates of stay I put in were 7/7/05 (Thursday) - 7/9/05 (Friday). hanna - I'm not sure about the 3.5 being the Don Cesar since the amenities listed included kitchenettes and Suites and the amenities for the 4* did not include Kitchenettes and Suites which both the Tradewinds have. I probably will start off by bidding on Priceline, but I just wanted to see what rates Hotwire was offering. We might end up changing our dates to June 30 - July 2. Would there be any problems with availability since these are the Thursday and Friday before the 4th? We'd be checking out on Saturday. I didn't know if that would make a difference or not. We could probably check on the 29th and check out on July 1st if it would help us win a bid.
  16. Ok, decided to put all the amenities in a Google search and these are the properties that came up as the first "match". Tradewinds Sandpiper or Island Grand - Resort, Beachfront, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Business Center The second one - Resort, Suite, Beachfront, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Kitchenette, Golf Nearby, Business Center also came up as Tradewinds Sandpiper. I'm pretty sure that the second match is the correct one since they have Kitchenettes. The first match can't be correct because the Tradewinds Sandpiper and Island Grand both have Kitchenettes. Does anybody have any thoughts on the first one? Could it be the Don Cesar? I know that it comes up once in awhile on Priceline if that makes any difference.
  17. Ok, the first one is - Selected amenities include: Resort, Beachfront, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Business Center. 4 Star - Best Value - $105/night The second one is - Selected amenities include: Resort, Suite, Beachfront, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Kitchenette, Golf Nearby, Business Center. 3-1/2 Star - $104/night TIA!
  18. You're welcome. I totally agree with you. The convience is well worth it.
  19. Wasn't sure if I'd be successful since we're staying the night before a holiday. Tried bids for 2.5 star at $35 and $40 unsuccessful. Used free rebids and got Residence Inn for $45. The only downside is this hotel doesn't feature on-site long term parking. Contacted the hotel and they recommended I contact the Courtyard down the street. Courtyard said we can park for $25/week and use their shuttle. Even with this added parking charge, taxes and fees, we're only spending $3 more than it would cost if we drove down the morning of our flight, but we're getting free breakfast so we're still making out better. The cheapest I have found for a studio at this hotel is $85/night. Your Offer Price: $45.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $45.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.14 Total Charges: $58.14
